Mbye stepping down as captain

This is why we won't even go close to making the 8, one of the worst spines in the comp.
- No fullback
- Below average halfback
- A number 6 that isn't a genuine 6 (imo)
- A questionable 9, coming back from multiple injuries and at his best is average.

Just telling it as I see it.

not that I've heard anything, but it wouldn't be a bad outcome for us.

Imagine downgrading from rts to mbye, would be extremely depressing

No wonder we are all depressed on here
From Tedesco to Mbye

But RTS is a great player now and has been for quite some time
Tedesco only became great after he left here

Our spine is definitely our weakest spot at the moment. Who knows if Brooks can find his old form, Doueihi is definitely a 6 but it's his first year there full time at first grade and Liddle and Simpkin are unknown. Mbye is just average.

There's always the possibility it works though, can't write them off yet. Liddle Brooks and Doueihi could all fire at once this year who knows.

RTS to *us* and Mbye to Warriors would be an even better outcome!

So could Mbye. The thing is all of these players can threaten. They have speed (ex Douiehi) and they have ability.

We just need them to be consistent and gel.

We have so many risk this season but if they come off we are a chance of making the 8.

Definitely mate. If everyone plays their best consistently we should make the 8.

Stay with me on my radical idea........ give the captaincy to Brooks (there I said it)

I think Brook’s mindset will change, whereby, he will finally understand it’s his job to grab the team by the collar and be in control.

If he fails than at the end of season move him on, one way or another.

Sounds like you want to set him up to fail so you can get rid of him.

I think it is a bad idea.

I want him to live to his potential or move over for someone who can control the team.......I don’t want anyone who wears our jersey to fail.

Would be a terrible outcome for us, we wouldn't have a fullback...

With Laurie now unlikely to come Mbye is really important to us. He is the only player we have who can play fullback (ex AD but he'll be at 6).

Would have been nice to have a back up heading into the season.

I know AD has trained at 6 but maybe if Mmbye goes he needs to go to 1 (God help us) and run with 7 Madden and 6 Brooks or vice versa

Not a totally rad notion dude. But it'd have to be done the right way.
I'd let Brooksy get a few games under his belt this year to settle in as the dominant shot-caller first, get comfy running the team his way. All the while he'd be observing and learning from Big Jim, then with Madge's blessings, he could go V/C and get a feel for it from there.
As someone else pointed out, Big Jim will spend a bit of time off the park so, regardless, we will need someone else to fill that void.
Maybe Mbye continues as V/C or Douehei steps up to the mark, seeing as he looks destined to start the season in the halves.
Other than that though, there's not alot of other obvious candidates imo.
As for moving him on, I'm backing Brooksy to get back to his better form, and hopefully supercede our expectations.

What about Kepoa,or the other guy at training people say is training well? Can't remember the name.Fullback is crucial for many reasons, especially for the halves,it creates so many more options in attack. The coaching staff must have realised this might happen, and have a plan B.?

We are so light at fullback, I believe Mbye is our only genuine option, we are in trouble if he goes down injured and will have to shuffle someone in who is not a fullback.
