Yes its very interesting lol. Were all happy to talk about the demise of Farah after 1 game, but talk up Ballin with 2 dodgy knees after seeing him play 40 minutes in 2 years. Manly were so desperate to get rid of him and happy to pay most of his salary for a year becauze he still has it right????? The hypocrisy on here is unbelievable.

Couldnt have put it better myself. As Wayne Bennett said this week, judge footballers by what they do on the field. And in that regards its been a miserable failure so far.

Ballin has been out of the game almost as much as Idris and we saw Idris's game. It wasn't bad but he was definitely off the pace.

Ballin will struggle to get a place in front of liddel and mckilwrick only injury and bad performance should see him back in the game.

Yep have to agree with this. I think Ballin will struggle to get back to anywhere near his best at 33 years of age, 2 knee recos and so long out of the game. Everyone so easily wrote a reasonably fit Farah off, once he got over 30, but somehow those same people expect Ballin to miraculously return to top form at the same age with 2 bung knees!

Ballin ain't the saviour, McIllwrick & Liddle are our future, but Ballin will be used to help guide them along, I reckon.

He signed a 2 years extension at Manly in the 2015 season so that covered 2016 and 2017\. Manly will still be chipping in this season.

Doesn't matter how much he is getting paid the problem is he is not doing the job he is getting paid for. He may be the best bloke in the world but still not the job he was employed to do.

You're right, and that's a fair criticism. I'd hope you'd apply the same logic to any other player within the club worth their salt though.

Yes they are paid to do a job, a job they love. Yes if they can't do that job they get the AXE.

But no gloating, any player can have a bad tackle (perhaps at training from their own teammate from behind,,, ha) and never play again. Yes, the money on Ballin was wasted. Mcilwrick is turning out ok and so is Liddel. Ballin will retire quietly and we can hopefully get on with beating the top teams….
