Look he’s not a huge loss, solid player the big question is will his money (which wasn’t much) be used well and will we replace him

We need another second rower at the club otherwise one injury and it’s literally Chee Kam on the bench and that’s not good enough

It's not great to lose him but he is definitely not a player that you get into a bidding war over. It is impossible to be critical when you do not know how much the Titans are paying him.

I dare say they’re paying a decent amount more than we are. Would he surprised if he even plays if their whole team if injury free there.

What’s important now is who we sign in his spot. We need a second rower pretty bad

The hard part is there is not a lot around, losing him hurts, but paying him $250k+ would hurt us more

I believe I read on here somewhere that he was on about 150k and we were baulking at increasing that at all.

Ridiculous if true and no wonder he packed his bags (good for him, bad for us).

I would be reluctant to go to $200k for him so it would depend on what the Titans offered, he really only has 3 months of quality football under his belt.

And yet we are paying $300/350 for an unproven front rower from parramatta go figure

You'll need to show me where McIntyre is a proven consistent year-

I didn’t say anything about him being proven player or that he is worth more than $200ki was asking about the boy from parramatta. He’s not proven do you believe he’s worth that much just asking how do you line them up

Too be honest I haven't seen enough of the guy from Parra to make that call. I do know that I have seen a fair bit of Sam and he hasn't shown me enough to make me go to $200k. But it seems we shouldn't have had to go to $200k

Cochise I have concerns around the clubs retention and recruitment last couple of seasons

Warden Horton style.

Pascoe would do much better with his negotiation skillsonce he gets a proper haircut.

I know Mate, he tossed up where to sign and the CEO at the Titans (whoever he is) had a better hair cut than Pascoe, so we had no chance, offered him as much as JAC and he said no way man - Pascoes haircut was the clincher. Lol

Mate so do I, I believe it is starting to improve. I feel we are getting better at identifying areas we are weak and then targeting players to improve those areas. I feel that is shining through in the younger players we are signing but we are having trouble closing with the more established players due to our recent history. I don't think the lose of a fringe 1st grader chances that for me but can see how that could be symptomatic of other issues at the club.

The boys called him Madges love child and McIntyre was happy playing under Madge. The info I heard was Hartigan wasn't really a fan so maybe they've got somebody else on the hook ?‍♂️
I just don't understand why Maguire wasn't all over this, it's not like he was distracted with finals footy ?‍♂️

Is it really Madge’s job to deal with the contract paperwork?

Definitely not but it's his team and the salary cap is Hartigans responsibility.
All clubs have recruitment meetings and the coach has a big say on who he wants

Are you saying it was not an oversight? That Madge didn’t want him? Then why would they offer him a contract and simply not execute it for 2 weeks?

The point is Cochise, if they took him up to 175-80k and signed the damn thing instead of playing around with dopes - he wouldn't have gone and would not have received the larger offer from the Titans.

And yet we are paying $300/350 for an unproven front rower from parramatta go figure

Mate he was not a standout in the lower grades and has played 3 months of consistent good footy. That's all he has shown.

That is a damn sight more than Mansour and Jimmy the Jet have shown in the past 2 years.

I wouldn't sign Mansour and I'd offer Roberts one year at minimum so that isn't saying much.

I wouldn't offer Jimmy an ice cream, let alone a contract.

Ad you put a downer on Sam Mac - at least he tries 100% when on the field - the Jet could catch a cold between plays.

That is fine, I have watched a lot of Sam and his form this year came from out of the blue. Yes he might continue it, but he might not either. Plenty of players flash for a couple of months then disappear again.

Have followed Tigers since I was about 8 years old and that is a very, very, long time ago and there have been a lot of disappointments along the way, but I have to say that today is right up there with them.

Quick someone Facebook message Sammy McIntyre and let him know his exit has moved into the upper pantheon with the 1989 Grand Final, the departure of Tim Brasher, the 1994 wooden spoon, the Hopoate hidden finger, the loss of Tedesco and the 2000 32-31 capitulation to Penrith.

You forgot heighington not falling on the ball at the scrum .

You'll need to show me where McIntyre is a proven consistent year-

I didn’t say anything about him being proven player or that he is worth more than $200ki was asking about the boy from parramatta. He’s not proven do you believe he’s worth that much just asking how do you line them up

Well that boy who is 200k more , is 195cm , 120 kg , absolutely tore up the juniors , was expected to be a mainstay in first grade this year , and is actually 2 years younger than McIntyre . And every footy judge out there good and bad , said he was a sure fire thing if ever there was one . So I’ll run with that .

Too be honest I haven't seen enough of the guy from Parra to make that call. I do know that I have seen a fair bit of Sam and he hasn't shown me enough to make me go to $200k. But it seems we shouldn't have had to go to $200k

13 seconds and you couldn't judge him ...cmon mate your slipping like your hairline

I have concerns about him from the little gameplay I have seen, he looks overweight and a little soft to me, but I'd like to see more before I deathride him. Is that better?

How can anyone seriously be rating Stef ...he at least 50 games away unless he is a freak in the Haas mould

He apparently is . Last year people said he was better . Could be hyperbole , maybe not . Either way , he’s worth more than McIntyre .

Well, this does me. The less I know about the inner workings of the club the better off I'll be. Sounds like amateur hour and makes me genuinely wonder if Benji really didn't know he was going to be out. I don't read other clubs forums but for those who do, do these sorts of things happen there too?

Just a question, if the POM knew that the Titans gazumped us on Thursday why did he not post anything until it was rumoured on here?
Maybe he is just a forum member with no more information than the rest of the people on here.

I don’t normally respond to comments like this but I feel this one warrants it.

I don’t speak with club personnel/sources daily.
Last information received was it all done & dusted to the point he was doing prep work with other players in time for training to resume next week.
I only addressed it this morning & not Thursday as I received a couple messages this morning saying he was gone & then reached out to my sources.

Now I also don’t normally slag off on management but this one is completely on them, he agreed a couple weeks ago to a new deal but they have been so focused on JAC that they left it unsigned & the Titans swooped in.
Apparently management can’t multi task.

It sounds like they were holding off in case Jac needed a slight top up , which would have come from McIntyre, in the end they get nothing. It's just embarrassing.

Hopefully the lure of a spot in first grade is enough to entice some young gun stuck behind others.
Could go for Tupinoa for 22 and hope Roosters let him go early. Can't see that happening though. We could double his salary though

That's plausible BB. Isn't the new development player from the Storm 22? Perhaps he may step up into the 30?

Given he hasn't played in over a year i'd say he will take some warming up so a dev deal where he can play the second half of the season is a good deal for us.
We did have some promising forwards in flegg this year, and maybe someone like atheson johns could be turned into a second rower, if hes still with the club that is
