McKinnon vs. Brown vs. Moltzen

Moltzen would have to be the worst fullback in the history of the game..

Thats just nasty…. I think Moltzen could play in the frontrow and still do something good, but I prefer McKinnon as my Fullback.

Philip Duke = worst fullback I have ever seen wear the Wests jersey…...Makes Moltzen look like Langlands

McKinnon for me

I think he will prove to be a master buy. He will score and set up many meat pies this season. High ball he is solid and I have seeen him tackle in the past, and yes I heard about the attempt on old no bum. The critique could be a bit tough if that was his first hit out after all the hammy dramas that he had last year. Anyone who has had hammy pain will tell you it takes a bit confidence before you really stretch out and test it to the max. It was a trial match after all, isn't that where you test things like that?? I reckon he will be better for the run.

Brown on the wing

Moltz for seven

Mullaney back up for McKinnon.

How do people figure Moltzen is a better attacking option than McKinnon or Brown. Moltzen makes about 5m on each kick return, that's pretty ordinary attack.

Moltz will play in the #7 if Lui is injured.
Until then he can hang @ the back ( #1 ) or keep Lui's VBs cold for his victory celebrations.
You guys are living in the past, it's Lui's time !!

I think it has more to do with his ability to attack at all other times. He struggles with kick returns, but his ability to hit holes, support, break the line and slide to the outside of his man and create space for Ayshford does a lot more for our attact than Mickinnon or Brown. Moltzen helps turn our right side attack into a weapon that could match our left (almost). Its just a matter of deciding where he does it from, is it 7 or 1? I hate to waste a talent like Lui to accomadate someone like McKinnon, but as long as we are winning i dont mind.

His attack in other situations is more halfback play that fullback play. Solution: Play him at halfback. Fullback is too important of a position to play a second halfback there.

I disagree. I think his general play is more of a runner than a playmaker, therefore suits fullback. The fact he can use the ball and sometimes take pressure off our kickers is a huge advantage to have in a number one. Im not saying Moltz can be a success at fullback, he's had some excellant moments there and some poor ones too, all im saying is that he has certain attributes that would give us the best possible balance if he was to make a success of the position.

Play Marshall at Fullback with Moltzen at 6, Lui at 7??? :roll :roll :roll :roll

You've thrown the bait out TW, nice try to accommodate all 3 into the team but there would be concerns about marshall's defence at fullback IMO plus he has developed his game at 6, why weaken that position to make way for Lui and Moltzen. Lui is the imcumbent and hasn't done anything to be dropped (that I have seen) so he should be given first crack but if his form drops then put Moltzen straight in. IMO this is the way Sheens will go- possibly!!

Mckinnon looked woeful the other night. I dont think he is the answer. I would rather brett Hodgson back, he's killing it in England. I like Lui at halfback. But i too like the idea of benji at fullback with moltzen and lui in the halves.

Noth that Im supporting Mackinnon in any way….but the whole team looked terrible and played like crap....but hey its only a trial, right?
The team itself gets second & third chances during trials....shouldnt individual players>?

Indeed they should Ink. I'd give both McKinnon and Brown a half each against the chooks and see who has the goods. At the moment they both have some work to do, but McKinnon moreso IMO.

Horrible idea.

i believe in overcoming the impossible by doing the unthinkable. Obviously we think differently. But i'll still buy you a beer. I like pacino as well. Best movie - Carlitos Way, scent of a woman, then Donny Brasco, back in the day, dog day afternoon, cruising, and off course scar face

i'd rather have tagive at fullback judging from last weeks game than either mckinnon or brown - but this idea of benji at fullback as crazy as it seems to you, "tiger wattos" suggestion, sounds novel but realistic. How many years would he span his football career do you think? Lui and moltzen have to be in the team also. Lui just gets better and better. But im not saying this is gospel, but hec, we're just talking right.

i'd never move benji to fullback, that said, he would be dynamite!!! maybe we could clone benji and play him both at five eight and fullback….how is his brother coming on
