Medicab

You can always carry the player the last few meters into the dressing room, it wasnt a good sight last night the way the players were taken off the field.

Stretcher does the same job imo…there was one there.

I agree with this. Medicabs are useful at the likes of Suncorp, ANZ & Allianz where the hike to the dressing rooms is probably a lot farther than suburban grounds. A stretcher does the job just fine at CSS, LO, Kogarah etc.

In regards to why they weren't used, perhaps the players waved them away?

I thought the same think about the medicab last night. I just assumed they were at all grounds but Ink is right there isn't much difference to a stretcher.

As many have said there were flashbacks to Dwyer as he walked off

After Dwyers injury, you would think anything serious, the players should damn well get on the stretcher. He doctor should order them too. They could be doing more damage to the problem. It still irks me to see the talented Dwyer with his arm still in a sling, beacuse the right precausions were not taken. …..Yeah i know, the players wave them away to prove ther tough,....well tough sh#t, the club pays you wages, you do what the clubs asks. Sorted.
As for the medicab, cover it in sponsorship, the amount of injuries we are having this year, sponsors will be lining up at the door as they will get good mileage out of the Medicab. Someone send a memo to Greenberg, 1st point of business - Medicabs at all games.

I'm surprised the clubs allow players to walk off after a serious injury tbh. OH&S requirements would dictate that the club's duty of care to the players should override the player's preference to walk from the field. Sooner or later this is going to become a real issue when some poor sod is allowed to walk off and do himself further damage as a result.

you mean like Dwyer.

I don't know the circumstances around Dwyer's injury and whether walking from the field caused further damage. It it did - then yes…. just like Dwyer. If in fact further damage was caused then the Tigers are dead set lucky that no lawsuit followed! But mark my words, sooner or later, it's going to happen.
