Melbourne Cup 2020

AVD
looks good (Stradivarius is Europe's champion like winx) if he can handle the weight looks the goods.
I have horses with James Ferguson in England and he used to travel the Godolphon horses to Australia he was talking to AVD trainer and they thought it had many lengths improvement.
Finche has had a good preparation
Twilight Payment
good third in Irish St Ledger
trifecta those
Think AVD gets the job done

Ive come around to Surprise Baby being a massive chance.

Russian Camelot the next best then the 5, 21, 1 and 7.

Small each way bet on Warning at very big odds.

My mate is a professional punter and he is super keen on Suprise Baby he likes the dry track
I dont like suprise baby at all dont think it will run top 4 but its all about opinions I guess

Bowie on board too

Best thing about the race is you can have a place bet for a pretty solid return too

I usually avoid horses who have lost previous Melbourne Cups but this horse should have won last year and is still very very lightly raced.

This year they have taken it very easy again and have it is primed. A couple of really nice tune up races.

They the owners and trainers know what they have here and have given it every chance to get in with a reasonable weight.

Each to their won but statistically you are better off picking 2 horses for a win rather than 1 each way.

The win pool is the strongest of the year and the value for multiple selections is good.

True, or normally the exotics like tris/first fours are the way to go

I’m pretty sure that is the 3rd horse bowman has ridden this year that’s died, not saying it’s his fault entirely but its a weird coincidence

Hope no horses die this year.

Anthony Van Dyck died

Its sad.... it really is, though stopping racing because of it also isnt the answer.

The vegetarian catch cry is "eating meat is cruelty". In some cases it is, though if the whole world went vegan/vegetarian, domesticated cattle and sheep would become almost extinct within a decade, millions if not billions of lives would never come into existence each yr, to for the most part live a decent life until they meet the fork.

Same as the pitbull, I dont endorse dog fighting, but the strict rules of the sport say if a dog turns on either an owner or referee inside the ring it was to be destroyed. While dog fighting was in its prime ( i know how poor a statement that is), culling of unstable animals had the gene pool as extremely human friendly, now the backyard hardman hero has its hands on the breed, we have violence machines bred for looks over purpose, with disregard for temperament. Similar sentiment with Greyhounds, they dont work, they for the best part disappear.

Domesticated horses, they take up alot of resources. If they dont work, I doubt they exist in any real numbers. Domesticated horses die in any number of pursuits when at work.

Dwyer, Tuiaki, McKinnon and the litany of other career ending injuries havent urged Rugby League to be stopped. The difference is the perseverance rehabititation wise when comparing a human being with a horse.

I didnt even bet on the race, i barely ever punt on any form of racing... but that horse that passed today would have lived a better life than almost any other horse on the planet. I just fear the repercussions of knee jerk reactions to these sorts of events, and the reality of what could come to be of bleeding hearts ending and industry that would also end a gene pool.
