NRL “hey you know that premiership ring we have you when you one that premiership half a decade ago? Well even though we have already formally found those responsible and officially taken away the premierships off all our record books - we are now being really petty and going to each player to take back their individual trophy... so can you hand it over?

Unsure of the truth, but I read somewhere that at the time of 2006-2009, Smith didn't have a manager when he negotiated his contract(s). That means he was complicit in all the dealings and there's no way he could have been ignorant of shady matters.
