Some words of wisdom from the amazing Dolly Parton.

“If you see someone without a smile today, give ’em yours.”

“If you’re feeling low, don’t despair. The sun has a sinking spell every night, but it comes back up every morning.”

A huge loss to the entire world. A great woman who grew up in extreme poverty, yet still understood that she had it so much better than kids of the black community that she couldn't swim or go to school with, and fought against it.

Beloved by most all, with her free book programs and vaccination promotion, particularly in the heat of covid disinformation, will have history hold her in very high regard.

Some very interesting high profile court cases in America are focusing on mental health currently with huge divisions opening in society as to the validity of using this defence to justify some horrible, unforgivable actions.
  1. Lindsay Clancy
  2. Luigi Mangione
  3. Tyler Robinson
All three are accused of terrible murders yet all have huge support in their communities and across the nation with mental health excuses front and centre.
This is becoming more divisive than the political right v left stances.

Been following that Lindsay Clancy case.
It's quite surreal, seeing all the support behind her.

Mistrial as of the morning.

Mistrial as of the morning.
The support behind her is unhinged for mine.
If I was a young bloke in the States I’d be very wary of who I was hooking up with.

These arguments aren't exactly new. They just seem to be the current thing being swallowed up by the toxic, polarised culture wars which are desperate to paint things as black and White, with no grey.

Mangione and Robinson havent used the MH defence as far as I can see. The Clancy case is extremely complex.
