Merge with Parra?

Both clubs are starting from scratch in terms of team, culture and finances. Why not start from a platform which can support success long term.

Play out of an extended 30k seat Parra stadium
Get a huge grant from the NRL for merging
Combine playing rosters
Combine Geographic footprint (inner west, through the Hills and then South West to Campbelltown. Isolates Penrith (kills them long term)
Huge and strong junior talent pool, keep separate juniors but move to one super academy
Excess players go to new Perth or NZ team
Memberships and fan base would be largest in comp helping attract big dollar sponsorships and allowing the new club to be independent of Leagues club politics.
Attract Bellamy to coach the new entity

Both clubs can't:

Cut it vs the 1st tier clubs now and especially in 10 years
Attract big enough sponsors to be viable without a leagues club
Claim that the current culture is worth investing in
Claim that fans aren't sick of ground hog day except for one or two good seasons each in the last 10 yrs.

Sorry I'm sick of all the negative threads so thought I would dream big and positive…

I think this type of outcome is inevitable. Sydney can only support 4 teams at most….north, east, south and west.

I could live with that but I only want Radradra and Foran. I also don't want any of their fans.

If you read the suggestion and didn't hate the idea then that is huge in itself. It should also be a wake up call that deep down you know status quo won't work long term.

I love WT more than I didn't Balmain in its last decade of NRL. I could bond with a new merged entity in the same way.

I would love a home ground to call our own

I would love having first pick of the biggest combined juniors area in the country.

I would love to follow a team that makes the top 8 consistently

I would prefer one hard call and 25 years of strength than blindly pursuing "rebuilding" on a platform of sand.

We are literally starting again anyway…

No, no, no - relocate the Tigers to Rockhampton.

Positives:
Geoff Murphy will build a huge stadium
40+ crowds to match Suncorp stadium
Players will want to come here so we won't be paying overs
Sponsors will flock to us
Happy & I will finally meet all you guys because flights and accommodation are plentiful and cheap and we will attend all home games.
They can play 1 x game at Leichardt and 1 x game at Campbelltown every year.
The local Capras will be a force in the Qld Cup (finally)
The NRL will give us a huge relocation assistance fund that we can waste.

Negatives:
What negatives?
It hardly rains here
The odd cyclone
Maybe a small name change? Well we can't stay as Wests Tigers. What about Central Tigers? CQtigers (lol) maybe this should be in the positives list.

(Rubs eyes) where am I?
Wifey: you were having another Wests Tigers nightmare but everything's ok now sweetie.

Dooh!

Well then you will have no September footy for the next few years.

Yes merging with them will see us playing September footy for sure…

I,m pretty sure if this was ever on the cards Parra wouldn't,t give up both their name and emblem.

We would still play out of Parra stadium.

Parra leagues would be the club that benefits the most and remember they control the votes there now.

Ideally the name would be new, though I can't think of one that works. Western Sydney matches nicely with the Wanderers and AFL. Hence fans have a team in each code.

Tiger emblem stays though Balmain to be an owner. Wests and Parra get 30% each. Fans can buy the remaining 40%.

I think it would.

Milky we need a team list to settle this.

Note we would get salary cap relief for existing contracts.

Why not just worm our way into the Parramatta Stadium redevelopment and have us, Parra and Wanderers playing out of a state of the art 30k seat stadium.

The only thing that needs to be changed is the name of the stadium, it would need to be a neutral sponsor. The benfits could enormous for all clubs and it would allow us to implement a 10/15 year plan to
build a 25k seat stadium and complex at Liverpool when Liverpool is well and truely ready for it.

1 basket case + another basket case = an even bigger basket case.

so it would be a no from me. After years of Balmain v Wests, we would have Balmain v Wests v Parra

I would rather have a frontal lobotomy than merge with the team i hate most (parra) that would be the end of me following football

Rather merge with the Roosters…at least we'd be guaranteed top 4 every year

Yes and a genuine shot at signing every marquee player on the market!
