Merge with Parra?

Looks like the off season is well under way for us!

So we've merged once, why not merge again!?!

If, and i mean a big if, a new rectangular stadium is built in that area i'd be happy to make it our main home ground. But no way would i even consider the idea of merging again, especially with Parra.

And the talk of relocation seriously makes me cringe. Any new team that enters the comp would want to have their own identity.

You can't merge with the Rorters.

The Rorters are merging with Souffs (Rortitts).

Only 4 Sydney teams Stryker says - can't have two in the Eastern Suburbs.

Cronulla and Saints (Shargons), Parra and Penriff (Eelpens), Dogs and Manly (Seadogs).

We have already merged.

Sorry Stryker, we have to have 5 teams.

I could live with that but I only want Radradra and Foran. I also don't want any of their fans.

I'd rather go to Perth …
We'd still see plenty of games at ANZ .
As for merging with Parra F/NO !

Or their board, Balmain and Wests have had heaps of problems already, I think that Parras board would prove to be worse than what we had.
Although the idea isn't in principle , a bad one, I just think it's fraught with problems. If there is any relocation involving going to a one team city( wherever) that would be better, than another JV with anybody, this place would be full of Magpie, eels and Tiger, arguments. It was full of BS with two of us, just getting a new name would take up 12 months.
eeltigpie, eel pie tig , magtigeel. God help us.

Well then you will have no September footy for the next few years.

We're used to that, do you think that we want go out in the cold, cheer our guts out, then call off at the pub on the way home for a few more celebratory drinks, and go home felling elated because of our teams incredibly good game, who the hell wants to do that ???

Apart from Supporters of Bronc's, Roosters, storm, Dogs, Souths, Manly, Cows, Warriors
Panthers, See, hardly anyone. :crazy

Why would merging attract better sponsors?

It seems both Tigers & Eels have long term sponsors who obviously love their club, rather than external corporate partners simple because they cant attract them

We would still require better management to attract those sponsors.

Wouldnt it be easier to simply appoint better management?

Parramatta has more money and members than they could poke a stick at. What could they possibly hope to achieve by merging with another club?

Yes he idea of a mega club extending from the harbour bridge to the southern highlands is not a bad concept, however what is the upshot for the eels?

Also, they won't be giving up the name "parramatta".

I,m pretty sure if this was ever on the cards Parra wouldn't,t give up both their name and emblem.

Balmains first choice of JV was with parra and they wanted the Tigers emblem
