Message of Support for Taylor

No, I wasn't at the game last night, but watched it. I live on the north coast of NSW and get to as many games as I can.

Yes, JT (some people here are not happy with the term boss being applied to Taylor) did write back.

I dare say he has a few adjustments he will make to the plan he is working towards as the season progresses. But as Mike Tyson said 'everyone has a plan until they get hit in the face'.

I already knew you werent at the game, just felt it was more courteous to ask and let you answer.

If you had of been at the game you would have picked up on a few things. To use your own comment, last night was a punch in the face. The game plan was showed up as too simple, predictable and almost insulting to this talented bunch of young kids.

Its over, he has no option but to change the plan now.

Droopy, this is a forum, the point of which is to share our opinions. If you don't want to here what i say, don't chance coming on here.

Larry this a forum & you need to learn not to try & force your opinion on anyone. You can repeat your opinon as often as you like, it does'nt alter opinions of others on here.
Your another one of the few that kept asking for Potter to be given more time. Great success that was. You need to change the culter of this club & expect results within a reasonable time rather than wait, see & hope.
Pressure needs to be kept on Taylor to achieve results rather than BS about changing defence stats etc.

I don't want Taylor sacked. But even the most ardent positive Pete has to admit his game plan is awful.

Unfortunately Taylor has very little to work with. This is a very poor squad, many unproven and overhyped kids mixed in with some very average players and only a couple of excellent quality first graders. Until we go on the market and buy three or four quality first graders this team is going nowhere regardless of the coach.

Why get personal? I support him, you don't….i can handle that.

He is our current coach and i will support him until he finishes his contract. After that i will support the coach that our board decides to give the next contract to.

If you don't think he is going to care what our supporters think, why would you worry about what i sent him?

I couldn't give a stuff what you sent him, and i never said i didn't support him. I don't support his gameplan, there's a difference. The only thing i've cared about is you on your high horse in this thread, talking down to those who don't see the current situation the same way you do.

Ahhh the supposed so called fans, i remember when Sheens used that term. Wasn't he having a dig at everyone in this forum when he said that?

Droppy, not forcing my opinions on anyone….just putting forward a different one to you. This is one of the purposes of the forum. If you don't want to hear what I have to say, don't read it.

Yes, i wanted Potter resigned. I thought he had done enough to warrant a contract extension through a tough period (benji saga, injuries). But the board disagreed and appointed Taylor. So i sucked it up and decided to support him, knowing that he had a hard road ahead.

I have listened to Taylor and watched the team and believe they are making progress against his defence orientated goals. I watch all the games and the last two weeks particularly have not been pretty to watch (no argument with this). But this is far from the end game. If they are still playing the same way and getting beat towards the end of his contract I will not be arguing for his retention.

Not sure why my stance is being regarded as an attack on those critical of Taylor.

Not a bad point by Tyson although I reckon he got that from someone else. I go to most games Larry and it is becoming tough to do that with the way our team is playing (and being coached) in fact I feel very much like we are on the canvas now.

champions get up off the canvas -
its not the end of the world

That's true of champions AHX but is that Wests Tigers at the moment?

It's interesting observing the forum or over a decade, the one consistent thing most supporters would always call out was that we lack defense or structure, struggled to recruit players of quality and lacked squad depth. People were getting frustrated with our lack of effort and performance and consistency.

The second though the strategy to move us into a structured side with a heavy focus on defense occurs the focus for most part of the forum is let the kids Chuck the ball around.

The strategy of the dynamic game we played for the last decade was a fluke in 2005 given we couldn't come close to replicating that since with mind you the same skilled players.

Some players have now left, 2 coaches have gone by and now we have one that is willing to actually change things up and the first sign of things not going right people aren't happy.

JT and all the players kept saying during preseason that they didn't have finals as a goal this year, during the year even when they won a few didn't deviate from that either, yet people are surprised and furious about it.

The only way to snap out of that is to go on a journey, it was never about getting instant results especially not this year, because that hardly ever happens in any sport especially when the team is roughly the same as one the year gone by, but also because there actually is a plan and the team have actually bought into it.

It's frustrating for us fans and no doubt the game on the weekend was worse for the players, it's going to be interesting how we fair after the bye and what the rest of the season holds up for these kids and JT.

He shouldn't be judged yet, he should be reviewed at the end of the year but more importantly on the first chance he came get a squad of players he wants which will start next season. I'm willing to give him another 12mths in the gig before I get too critical of his tenure. Currently it's just frustration because I know how good kids like Moses and Brooks are and just want them to come out of their skin but also know they way they are playing currently it's clear they support JT so I will as well.

Hopefully over time that will be the case but it's not at the moment.

I am with Wests Tigers and I know that includes you AHX, the game plan could do with some tweaking though.

and if we won Cunno - nobody would of been talking about the game plan - no one

You are right AHX a win would have helped a lot and there would have been less talk about the game plan but I reckon there would have been some, people are always looking for ways to improve
