Buzz is now reporting it …

_IT’S not all bad news for Wests Tigers fans if the rumours are right about Penrith’s Origin centre Michael Jennings.
We’re hearing the Tigers’ recruitment team has been clearing the decks to free up salary cap space for the Panthers star. Jennings is under contract at Penrith for three more years. I’m told his deal is worth $650,000, $650,000 and $690,000\. The Panthers would be prepared to contribute $100,000 to the first year of the contract. Money saved from Beau Ryan, Chris Heighington and Blake Ayshford puts the Tigers in the box seat._

"BEAU Ryan wants it known that he didn’t quit the Wests Tigers over coach Tim Sheens, a man for whom he has the utmost respect. His decision to sign with the Sharks was all about club management failing to honour a contract offer he had agreed on 10 weeks earlier. Ryan has so much admiration for Sheens that he broke down and cried when he told the Test coach of his plans." We might have to send it up to the video ref to verify who's a fibber. Beau blaming club management in this article but I've also read in another article management blaming Beau.

On the sort of money that jennings is supposedly on i wouldnt even bother talking to him especially as the panthers are only coming up with 100k for one year.Paying that sort of money is ridiculous for any center

Very true that sort of money you pay for top notch halfbacks and play makers not centres that's ridiculous.

Play him at fullback so he can get his hands on the football more often. No harm in Tedesco starting off on the wing.

I thought the idea of getting rid of Sheens was to stop playing 9 guys out of position every week and then change them all the following week

Jennings is one of those rare players who can make a break and go 90m to score.

I would love to see him run off Benji. And hopefully they could become besties and have sleep overs

me too.
It seems to be ,that in this forum whenever we are linked to a top liner some think we shouldnt pay big money for them .Jennings is a class player who will thrive off Brnji and just might need a fresh club to bring him to his best .
1TEDDY
2 LOTE
3 JENNINGS
4 LAWRIE
5 MARIKA
6 BENJI
7 ANASTA 7 MILLER
thats a pretty good backline IMHO

It depends if that cash is taking into account the future increased cap from the TV rights. The numbers might start to exponentially increase if the club takes a gamble on it. But that is still a lot of coin!

How brilliant would that backline be that 1/4 C&C mentions above! That's even counting out blokes like Utai, Moltzen, Siro and Nofu…. if that is our depth, we would be in for a good year!

The only other signing we need is a prop like Kite and we would be sorted.

It now appears WST might not have as much money in the bank as we thought. The Balmain side of the JV have no money and I doubt the Wests side want to cough up too much more.

A fortune to get rid of Sheens…so tighten the belt and bye bye Robbie..

A risky proposition IMO..will he deliver week in week out? Will he turn up to training pissed? Is he worth the dough?

For God's sake, this bloke has a shocking attitude and will cost a fortune. Use the money to throw the kitchen sink at Farah.

Totally. And in regards to that earlier post that had the bit where Ryan broke down when telling Sheens of his plans, i don't wanna harp on about it, but someone needs to put these guys in a room with a few Port Adelaide players and let them both discuss their current situations and then lets see whose entitled to break down. Just thinking what Port have been through makes me so angry when i see these prima dona's crying cos they can no longer play together. Someone give this pack of skirts a reality check

If Ayshford is gone, I would prefer to see NYC players given a chance so:
1 Tedesco (Rowe)
2 Nofolauma (Utai/Grant)
3 Fine (Moaney/Clark)
4 Lawrence (Simona)
5 Marika (Tuqiri, Grant)

Grass is not always greener …

Go Tigers

Worked ok for Ben Barba who was originally a 5/8 and also for Greg Inglis.
These days to be a successfull team, you need a fullback who the opposition fear when they have the ball in their hands and someone who is capable of running 100m to score a try, this sounds like Jennings to me.

If this turns out to be true with the $600,000 plus price tag i would be bitterly disappointed. Penrith have been trying to get rid of him because he's not worth that much on a week to week basis. Shocking attitude also.

So if the Tigers matched/beat that price we would be putting ourselves in the same situation and paying overs. That being said we have a habit of paying overs for players.
