But what we can expect is greater effort from players under a new coach. I don't believe Sheens and Maguire would work together. Morris definitely could work with Sheens, he is a protege.

In deliberate mocking the other coaching threads I propose that Michael Maguire should be our new coach for 2022

A man who understands the Wests Tigers, what the club is about, has the passion for the club and understands what is needed to move the club forward.

Maguire has brought a number of youngsters along, and is showing them what NRL is all about and getting them ready for a bright future at the club.

These include, in no particular order, and is not limited to:

Daine Laurie
Jake Simpkin
Jacob Liddle (after horrific injuries Liddle has had an injury free season)
Stefano Utoikamanu
Jock Madden
Asu Kepaoa
Shawn Blore
Tukimihia Simpkins
Kelma Tuilagi

Defence has always been an issue with the Wests Tigers but it is good to note that Maguire has stuck with Alex Twal, and included Shawn Blore in the squad both of whom have impeccable defensive statistics.

In addition to the above we cannot leave out:
Adam Doueihi - Developed into our new goal kicker and 5/8
Thomas Mikaele - singed an extension with the club
Tommy Talau, who after a slow start is starting to show promise.

The young blokes are the Wests Tigers future and Maguire knows it and understands it.

Wow - I am just watching the wooden spooners smash us - currently 22-0 and I see 39 people have upvoted this post. I have been prepared to change my mind all year regarding Madge, but this is the final straw. Bring on the review. Madge is not the answer - we need a new coach.

There is a number of players that need to go before Madge.

How do you retain these juniors ? How do you sell a picture to external players and juniors again? This club is a coach killer. I don't see another coach honestly capable of turning this ship around even with how we are going off the field. We sack the coach, expect another couple of years of misery. It's going to be a perpetual cycle of sacking coaches on this trajectory. We are stuck in this whole for a while. I am glad I am not the one making decisions. I feel sorry for all of us fans who turn up and support this club. I will continue to but its really getting ridiculous.

For Madges own mental health he should just leave. I actually feel for the bloke. I don’t agree with many of his methods and selections but to put your heart and soul into the club and the boys dish that up for you must hurt.

Hartigan is a huge asset to the club. He is not associated with Maguire and the assistants.

the play the ball is the advantage line, if your not stopping the opposition at the advantage line, then they will roll down the field and score, if your players are too big and slow with no agility, then they cant cover defend, so they are easy to run around, these are attributes the latest players have to be taught, it doesnt seem its happening at the west tigers

I think some of you Madge haters should do some research, We sacked Sheens and I understand why, but with forsight we should of probably persisted with him. Potter was not even given a proper go, then there was JT, who never bought anyone of note, his best signing was McQueen, and he totally stuffed our pathways,he also lost so much talent, as a supporter you were left shaking your head, and then we got Cleary, who overspent on old experienced players on long contracts , and it seemed at first after some early wins we struck Gold, however I think may have been the Benjie influence rather than Cleary, and we have only just cleaned the Cleary mess up this year. Last year Madge got the broom and swept alot of the old, and the deadwood out. This year half this team, have never played together, do you realise that! and were the most inexperienced team in the comp, experts had us favoured for wooden spoon, yet we will probably finish 11 ahead of a number of teams who have under performed alot worse than us. Madge has a good young team together, and the core of our future. If you think Madge is the problem in getting players here, its a problem we have had since Sheens left. I think there a small minority of supporters here that want Madge out, because he will show next year how wrong you guys are.

Well seeing Maguire has been coaching at the club for 3 seasons and the team still has no DEFENSIVE structure I have no doubt he will be gone by round 8 next season !

How do you teach speed, and size? The players we have are physically inferior to other teams. It's that simple.

I have been saying all year that his bench rotation is terrible, today proved it. Blore & Tuilagi were out on their feet, Madge left them out there while Amone got splinters.

Today’s bench rotation was stuffed due injuries, and Joe O has a bigger dig than most…but the effort today reflected a team that had lost the coach and what he was trying to achieve. So we must move on with a new coach
