Miller..Gone

Considering that it was reported we had gone to the NRL for cap exemptions because of injury, it makes sense we would be letting go of some players at this point.

Miller seemed to be on the outer. Brooks was just promoted up a grade, Anasta/Sirro were both chosen ahead of him, and with him off contract this year it makes sense to let him go to free up room, especially if he wanted out (no idea if he did though). It would be nice to have something go down without hearing the usual of "oh Benji/Robbie are running the team" or "boys club strikes again", thats never been anything other than fan speculation yet its spoken about in here as if its truth.

Good luck to him, he will kill it in ESL.

So is Daniel Holdsworth….but I doubt many NRL teams would have him....

Good luck to Milky....he obviously struck a raw nerve with Potter and the Senior players...obviously the issues he had with Sheens carried over to Potter.... what's the common denominator?

My understanding of the Salary Cap would be that Miller still counts towards this years Cap… Unless the NRL are prepared to give us exemptions, Jacobs release means nothing?!

Any money already paid to Miller counts in the cap, we don't get that back. But the unpaid part of his contract is now freed up in our cap for the year.

That should be ok as we are probably behind on player payments for 2013 as we are broke…aren't we?

**Prediction**

In 2 years from now there will be a thread.

**_"Lets bring Miller back"_**

mark my word.

Amateur hour at Concord once again. Our halves have been decimated by injury, but we are letting one of them go to England, one who was the captain of last season's premiership winning U20s team and one who has not been given the slightest chance to become comfortable in the top grade. We were 2-2 with him, and 0-4 without him. IMO this is a disgrace, but I'm probably in the minority there.

Doesn't make sense last years under 20s SOO halfback starts his career in Super League. Can't help but feel there's more to this story than Brooks and Sironen.

Genuine question: is it possible the club is jettisoning a player it gambles it can live without to free up cap room for some short-term reinforcements to an injury-ravaged squad? I'm not saying that would be a good thing, just wonder if it's a possibility.

I think this is probably the case, I believe the club feels he prob is not the answer long term (I agree with them) and figure they might as well let him go now, free some cap and positions to develop those who they think have a future.

IMO i think that Miller is just shy of regular NRL quality. I reckon if he stayed in the NRL he would have forged a career in and out of sides, but think the ESL is prob a good move for him.

good result for everyone IMO

he is heading to hull who are coached by peter gentle former tigers assistant coach and 20s coach. could they feel that the best way to get the best out of jacob is to allow to develop under a coach who is familiar with him away from the spotlight and also keep tabs on him with the relationship developed between gentle and the tigers

Miller gone?

…. that was easier to see coming than his 5th tackle options.

which is not saying a lot. Good riddance.

Best thing to happen for both parties

The only true halfback we have, and he gets all of four weeks

"He's a level-headed kid and he knows he needs to perform," Potter said yesterday.
>
**"He also needs to be allowed to make a few mistakes, because young players will make mistakes.** The main thing is that they learn from them and you can cope with that. He'll get a good run."
>
The coach also indicated Anasta - recently voted into the club's six-man leadership group - would provide direction for Miller, a former Roosters clubmate.
>
"Braith can provide some guidance for Jacob, his experience around the middle will be great for us," Potter said. -Mick Potter. Jan 08 2013

He'll get a good run.
