Miller

Are we overrating Miller I know he is still very young and his two performances as a starter were behind packs that struggled .Does he just look good in 20's because he is behind a dominant pack in NYC . Myself the book is still out in him . Want to give him a wrap on his short kicking game though it is good .

Nope, he looked good. He showed class in his limited opportunities. I really liked his defense tonight. They ran Idris and Kasiano at him all night and he stood in their way every time.

I dont have a judgement on him. In all NRL games hes played he hasnt gotten involved because of the other playmaker being dominant.

For a halfback his defence is good, or going to be very good, but thats just a bonus, if halfback was about defending then Lincoln Withers would be andrew johns.

Im yet to see him show a heap in attack, but again he hasnt had a huge chance and is very young.

People are however crazy saying he is a future superstar thats just barbaric and unjustified, and the same people have made similar calls in the past about some classic names.

I'm not sure but i know I haven't seen anything that makes me think he is a high quality player.

When Benji came into first grade you could tell he had the talent. When Farah came in you could tell. Maybe he has it but at the moment its a big call.

If I was the coach Jacob Miller would be my 1/2 from the next game I have been watching and enjoying this game for over 55 yrs this kid is the real deal!!! He and Benji will KILL it!

Of course he will Snake. Class player with a heap of a talent.

Dont know Sheens doesnt let young halves play their natural games. Same thing happened with Lazarus. Let Miller organise. He is an organising half. Thats his strength.

The best of halfbacks would have struggled to shine out there tonight. Miller ran without fear, passed well and defended strongly. The kid is 18! A job well done IMO.

hahaha he crucified lazarus….. funny you should bring up lazzo .... it was his game against the dogs at campbelltown that finished his first grade career ....o yes playing a number 7 out of position at fullback ......

Now I am hearing some sense! Great posts Snake and Southerntiger. If Gus thinks he will be all class with 30 games under his belt then that is good enough for me.

Is Lui still you enough to go back to 20's? I like Miller at half, but I am concerned at losing momentum in our 20's team who are starting to come into some good form.

i thought miller showed a lot of heart and confidence in what he was doing tonight and if lui or molten performed like miller did tonight, something could have happened earlier on.

Miller tried really hard tonight but he's still learning. dont know where he fits though.

Miller's got the goods but as we saw tonight there is a big difference between the under 20s and 1st grade where everyone is bigger, stronger, smarter and to some extent faster.

Miller tried to do his NYC stuff but it was not as effective in 1st grade

Number 7 mate the only 1/2 we have had since Prince.

sheens is scared of playing a real half because he knows it'll show him up with his options he has chosen the last 5 years and fitzhenry takes the cake

Well I have thought that… Lui is making Sheens not look all that good .

Ok I'll go out on a limb and say it.

Miller is an excellent player….**in U20s**.

But watching U20s last weekend and I realized it's like schoolboys in comparison to NRL 1st Grade, they're not as big and it's just a totally different class of play.

I'm not saying he won't be brilliant someday, but we can't even sort out the issue between Moltz and Lui so why bring another halfback into the issue.

I was disappointed with Lui's game tonight, poor defence, silly kicks and it's not the first time, he needs to spend some time in state cup to give him a reality check. Put Moltzen in at half or Miller, I am a bit concerned about pushing Miller too early though.
