Missing our Outside Backs

I had a look at our back and their attacking stats around line breaks, tackles busts, tries and its interesting to see the real difference between Utai , Tuqiri and larence being in the side and Brown, Ryan, Moltzen in the side

I put together the table below and it really shows we have missed our outside backs more then anything - also of note is Rob Lui has actually been not bad overall even being out of form up until the parra game which surprised me . I have sorted by ave tackle breaks and you can really notice the difference

Player G T TB LB Ave TBAve LB
Matt Utai 11 4 54 7 4.91 0.64
Lote Tuqiri 4 1 14 1 3.5 0.25
Benji Marshall 15 7 49 8 3.27 0.53
Wade McKinnon 11 4 33 8 3 0.73
Blake Ayshford 16 4 47 10 2.94 0.63
Robbie Lui 13 4 38 9 2.92 0.69
Chris Lawrence 4 4 11 4 2.75 1
Beau Ryan 9 2 23 2 2.56 0.22
Mitch Brown 13 3 23 3 1.77 0.23
Tim Moltzen 16 4 25 3 1.56 0.19
Tim Simona 4 0 4 0 1 0

Hey boonboon, stop with the facts mate.

If you keep this up, people will have to face the truth and stop their crucifying agendas?

PS. Great analysis there, really showing what's happening with our backs.

We have missed everyone. Our injury list this year has been horrific. No continuity. You could see it the other night against the Eels, we could easily have been leading that 20-6 at halftime, but passes didn't stick and the ball bounced the wrong way. We can still do a lot this year IF we can get some wins while trying to get some rhythm and NO more injuries. But we will definately need a change of luck

What about other years without Benji and/or Robbie Farah? Any outside back worth his salt would be able to convert breaks by others into tries. Mitch Brown personifies this - solid but ineffective as an attacking force. How many tries has he blown that Tuquiri or Tuiaki would have had for breakfast?

Tuiaki? WTF does that have to do with anything? Was it Beau Ryans fault Mckinnon decided he didn't want to pass him the ball the other night? What about Lawrence throwing the ball over the sideline 1st set of six after we scored?

The point i'm making is the team looked like it was their first hitout for the year. They are displaying the same form they did in the trials, and theres good reason for it….it's called lack of continuity. This is what happens when blokes aren't playing together regularly (usually due to injuries)

Didn't Gus Gould say during the game on Friday that WT were fumbling their way through the warm-up and nothing had changed in the game? :deadhorse:
