Because from what Ive read lately he isnt well liked, mainly due to the fact he cant play fullback….yet!
So how long do you persevere with him 5 games , 10 games a season. Where do you draw the line . Personally he won't learn anything in NSW cup as the standard is no where near NRL standard .
@king sirro said:MM, i like Brown mate, go back 2 years and read all my support of the guy. At halftime, any coach worth his salt would have moved Brown to fullback and Moltzen to centre.
Now Moltzen has no physical presence, but he at least he reads defence better in the centres than Brown, and Brown is a batter fullback…..........but the coach didnt make the call and it cost us
@that_guy said:Brown doesn't have a spot in our full strength starting backline. I'm not saying he is a bad player, I just believe we have better options. People are basing all Mitch Brown positives on his form at fullback at the end of last year. Even though he provided very little in attack. He did play well, but this year so far when we have struggled, Brown has shown us nothing of the sort when given the chance in any position. Imo it is very easy to look good in a winning team. When you look at the dragons: morris (just speed), hornby (pretty much a lock), prior, young, green are all seen as good player (because they are winning), but I wouldn't take any of these guys if they paid us to take em
@Chadman's Ghost said:His "attempted tackle" on Gasnier in Gaz's try was Fitzy-like.
Go back & watch. He ends up holding Moltzen's hand for a second or two from memory..

Would take Hornby in a heartbeat and put him back at fullback Before you could say "I love Moltzen "

Really? you would take Hornby at Fullback. Wouldn't that be criticised, obtaining an "older" player lacking speed and putting him at fullback. He is a safe player, but the strongest part of his game is his defence (it would be difficult making 25 tackles a game at FB). But that is your opinion, and if you would rather have an older, slower, defensive player with not much time left, rather than persisting with a guy who might given the right chance have a real future at the tigers as a real attacking weapon :wtf .
Each to their own

Seeing as you are the expert at playing fullback what do you rate as the most important things about being a fullback
@that_guy said:You obviously have a personal vendetta against Moltzen, or you have a secret ambition to play fullback for the Wests Tigers.
@happy tiger said:Now comparing Hodgo to Moltzen That will do me :roll
@that_guy said:@happy tiger said:Now comparing Hodgo to Moltzen That will do me :roll
I wasn't comparing the overall games of the two (seeing that Hogdo had played rep footy and was a mature player at tigers), I was just pointing out the fact that his defence wasn't anything to get excited about. And that kind of ruins your whole point about [automatically edited] being entirely defensive.
Man if you were coach you would probably:
1) play gibbs at [automatically edited] to fulfil the defensive requirements
2) sign yourself up to satisfy your secret covert ambitions to make the wests tigers team at FB
