Mitch Moses Denied Release - Confirmed

So bloody selfish from Moses causing more distraction for coach and team mates preparing for an important game

Yeah it's all about him
Cleary should stick it to him and keep him till the end of the year playing him in the reggies. Not a good outcome for the tigers but shows what will happen to anybody who is not on the bus.

“I really haven’t thought about it too much at all,” Cleary said.

Lol. Thathat's a back hander to Moses. Love it.

I'd rather Moses either earns his money playing for us, or frees up 2017 cap space to promote or scout some depth forwards. Our bench is looking pretty light some weeks. It would be satisfying to run Moses off the bench in ISP, but wouldn't benefit the Tigers in any way.

yeah but it sends a message to other players in the team that you are not indispensable and we only wanted committed players in the team. If anybody asks for an immediate release this is what you get. Stops this contract evasion bs that goes on as well. If a player plays out his contact and moves on that's fine but demanding an immediate release will not be agreed too.

There an article in SMH quoting reddy who was in junior development at parra when Moses was there. Said he gave Moses a reasonable junior based salary offer to stay at parra but he came to us because he was not happy with parra offer and we paid him more.

I mentioned this a few weeks ago, Uncle Benny's blood flows through Mitch's veins.

I dont know how old he would have been then, but I assume any contractual talks/,decisions have would been heavily influenced by a parent.

No doubt. But how many of these guys go on to be successful after league? Moses is no dummy, but it's pretty clear he wants to earn as much as he can while he's playing, which is fair enough, good luck to him. I just think this contract saga typifies his character.

Let him spend the year in Ron Massey Cup

As long as it is not with the magpies hehehe

Still don't get the hate , same for Tedesco and Woods

They won't to leave they leave , they leave ,they want to stay , they stay ….

No reason to hate them though

How many years has Woods played for us now , 8 years ??

Tedesco 6 years ??

That may be true Willow - just trying to keep some balance in the discussion. He certainly portrays as an ambitious young man. Some challenges ahead settling into a new club - will be real test of his resolve to succeed.

I recall Benny being quoted about 15 years ago as saying that he played in the era of before big contracts so presumably that is why he is playing catch up wherever he can. Could be why so many of his mates of same generation are hanging around trying to make a buck out of the game. Benny had his phone business and building group that has even been building commercial projects in Byron Bay - 500 miles away. So he would be advising his nephew to making a killing whilst can.

I wonder if Mitchell is still in the leadership group along with Woodsy and Teddy…or has it been dissolved...

It would be a 'leadership' group in name only! Noffa and ET seem to be showing more leadership than the the team captain and Moses, that's for sure.

Good question,
Who else was in the leadership group, was it ET and Sue ?Poor old ET would be feeling rather lonely atm.

In hindsight the club made a very poor decision in placing all their cards on Moses. Not only did he shaft the club early he also planted a divide/influence on woods and tedesco with the wehbe and Isaac Moses factor. I'm sure woods and tedesco would be different not being influenced by that lot. Good luck with that one parramatta.

That is a really good question. Something I have been thinking about as well. It would interesting to know the answer. Might show an insight into what the club is thinking. Then again everything might be status quo until the contracts are sorted.

Hindsight is a beautiful thing.

We talk specifically about 'Uncle Benny' but I think you'll find that the Moses and moreso the Elias family are filled with highly successful, financially-minded people. Good people, importantly. There is an expectation (and I suppose with that, naturally, a pressure) to be successful and that can lead people to chase money more than they should. Do some reading about the families and you'll see what I mean. By all this I mean to say: we shouldn't be surprised he's chased the safest, biggest offer put to him.
