I'd rather Moses either earns his money playing for us, or frees up 2017 cap space to promote or scout some depth forwards. Our bench is looking pretty light some weeks. It would be satisfying to run Moses off the bench in ISP, but wouldn't benefit the Tigers in any way.

yeah but it sends a message to other players in the team that you are not indispensable and we only wanted committed players in the team. If anybody asks for an immediate release this is what you get. Stops this contract evasion bs that goes on as well. If a player plays out his contact and moves on that's fine but demanding an immediate release will not be agreed too.

No doubt. But how many of these guys go on to be successful after league? Moses is no dummy, but it's pretty clear he wants to earn as much as he can while he's playing, which is fair enough, good luck to him. I just think this contract saga typifies his character.

That may be true Willow - just trying to keep some balance in the discussion. He certainly portrays as an ambitious young man. Some challenges ahead settling into a new club - will be real test of his resolve to succeed.

I recall Benny being quoted about 15 years ago as saying that he played in the era of before big contracts so presumably that is why he is playing catch up wherever he can. Could be why so many of his mates of same generation are hanging around trying to make a buck out of the game. Benny had his phone business and building group that has even been building commercial projects in Byron Bay - 500 miles away. So he would be advising his nephew to making a killing whilst can.

In hindsight the club made a very poor decision in placing all their cards on Moses. Not only did he shaft the club early he also planted a divide/influence on woods and tedesco with the wehbe and Isaac Moses factor. I'm sure woods and tedesco would be different not being influenced by that lot. Good luck with that one parramatta.

That is a really good question. Something I have been thinking about as well. It would interesting to know the answer. Might show an insight into what the club is thinking. Then again everything might be status quo until the contracts are sorted.

We talk specifically about 'Uncle Benny' but I think you'll find that the Moses and moreso the Elias family are filled with highly successful, financially-minded people. Good people, importantly. There is an expectation (and I suppose with that, naturally, a pressure) to be successful and that can lead people to chase money more than they should. Do some reading about the families and you'll see what I mean. By all this I mean to say: we shouldn't be surprised he's chased the safest, biggest offer put to him.
