Mitch Moses touched the ref

Thought the thread was about touching the ref - not Moses' chat habits.

The whole touching thing seems a bit over the top to me. Over a hundred years of football played and never a problem between player and ref physically and we need to clamp down on this?

It's the logical extension of all this calling players by their first name and becoming part of the game instead of controlling it. There was a time the referee was "sir" and the players numbers.

Anyway the Moses thing seems more Trent Merrin than David Klemmer. He wasn't approaching him the ref just got too close to the action. Nothing to see here, move on.

Nothing in it. The ref was in the wrong position and he carefully guided him to the side so we could get on with the game. Nothing aggressive. Sometimes the refs are just in the wrong spot.

You also sometime see players with a smile, sharing a joke with the ref and maybe with an hand on his back. Is that going to be outlawed as well?

We sure as hell don't want to be like the AFL where every accidental glance or nudge, regardless of who's fault it is, gets a suspension

And Mitch needs to talk, and always will. Part of his game, and you need at least one player on the field barking orders to your team mates. Brooks doesn't really, teddy does a bit, but Moses sure does. The fact he has a go at other players occasionally is fine by me.

He's a confident kid and playing like it. Why would you ask him to change what's working so well?

If the ref has a problem with it, blow a penalty on the field. Even send them for 10\. That will stop it quick smart.

The fact the ref didn't create a fuss meant he saw nothing in it.

There is nothing in this at all.

Not cause Im biased, but totally different situation than Klemmer and others in the past.

Moses is in a crowded spot about to feed the scum and isnt even looking at the Refferee

The only real referee touching incident I can remember is Blocker Roach patting the referee on his head during a match at Brookvale. Roach got at least a couple of weeks for that and if remember correctly missed out on some finals matches.

lol is this a real charge? Anyone who has played competitive sport has been in this position: setting yourself to be in position to be first to the ball.

The bloke w/ the mining torch is in the wrong place as the scrum is starting to move and he is impeding Moses. If we lose the scrum the ref is actually blocking Moses out of the play. The ref should be a step or two backwards.

I honestly don't see a problem with it but I think he should be spoken to about his actions. Don't want him having time off for something like that. I reckon should be fines out for first time offending. Considering there's two out on the field now makes it a shade harder to stay out of the way.
It should be more about a player approaching a ref instead of just purely touching. Get it right NRL!!!

The incident Blocker missed the '88 Grand Final for was a high tackle on Penrith's Chris Mortimer. When he patted Eddie Ward on the head in 1990 he got 4 weeks suspension and $5000 fine, didn't miss any finals matches from it though.

Nothing in it, like others have said he backed into him and there was no intent. Unlike the Klemmer situation.

As for his banter, he has always been like that it just comes with the personality. Just like Benji had his swagger in his hay day. He will settle down with maturity, for now I don't see him crossing any lines. I'll take it so long he continues his impressive form.
