Pearce perennial underachiever no thanks….which is why the Roosters are looking elsewhere

Sorry mate that's just rubbish… This all wouldn't be happening if Cronk stayed in Melbourne
I'd love him here... We should be looking at signing him if he's on the outer

Hmm..This wouldn't be happening if the Rorters were happy with Pearce..Admittedly Pearce is better than what we have, if we take him then we have the problem of what to do with Brooks who we signed for 2 years….I suppose the Rorters could sign Brooks up too.

They were happy with him… Until someone better comes along.... We could do well to adopt this principal... Someone would pick up Brooks... As someone will pick up pearce

Spot on Ink, the good clubs upgrade when needed, we sit and wait, and wait for our so called next big thing juniors to come good, no surprise we have not featured in the semi's since 2011.
Some club will take Brooks, we may have to foot some of the fare, but it won't cost us very much and the upside will be worth it.

Farah could be on about $450K this year and is twice the half back that Luke and Mitch will ever be judging at this stage.

You are deluded.

When still a junior as half back he scored a Lebanon's first try against France when they were no. 4 team in world. He showed in last games against Parra and Niue that he still has that spark. He is certainly a better defender than Moses and Brooks put together. When Roosters lost Pearce last year they floundered then when he returned they rebounded so he also has that spark.

Just let it go Byron. Some of the bashers on here are bad enough, but you are unrelenting on your crusade.

Think Pearce has matured and would be a better fit than Cronk, plus he consistently gets on the field which would be a bonus, so would gladly have him on board. That said, I also have no problem with Brooks and would look to keep him.

If Roosters get Cronk AND they keep Pearce, surely it would be the first time in history (since the beginning of State of Origin in 1980) that both NSW and QLD Origin halfbacks were in the same club.

That is ridiculous.

One upside, Cronk would get a look at two of the biggest cheating clubs in the NRL, so one day might be able to tell us which one cheats more.

Pearce won't be leaving the Roosters.

Cronk will be announced late next week. Still hasn't signed but verbally agreed

I hope that's not the case.

I really don't care where he goes but if the Roosters sign him, keep MP plus the other cattle they have assembled then its pretty obvious the Cap is broken. At the moment I can trick myself into thinking its a level playing field with a bit of mental arithmetic and guessing numbers but there would be no hiding from that….no math in the world can have that team being under the cap.

Pearce is a grub off the field and garbage at origin level, BUT he's a quality first grade half, of which are very skint at the moment.

Like Cronk, I'd say we've made enquiries.

With what cap and roster space we have available we have to direct it towards a area we are really struggling in. With Brooks Benji and to a lesser extent Gamble we probably have the 7 covered.

I still think we need some real speed and height out wide that kicks goals or maybe a class back rower. Although I am not sure anything like that is or about to hit the market

Was wondering when Melbourne would come into the picture. I think he would be great for us but frustratingly all a bit quiet from our end.

Cronk WILL sign with Rorters - probably announced Monday (fitness test today) and handshake agreement last March/April that if he went around again it would ONLY be with the rorters.

I hear they are trying to shuffle the deckchairs to keep MP but he is pissed off ATM

Pearce will NEVER come to the Tigers…ever. No need to discuss it.

Ok Weighing in to this thread, some comments are a little crazy.

Firstly BROOKS CANNOT PLAY 9\. Yes Farah can and defended well. McKillwick and Liddle are going good. Turnstyle at 9? Ok I guess others can catch the ball carrier after 15 meters!!! Your Dummy half must be able to defend and get amongst it.

Pearce is a great club player, sucked at Origin, has a few off field issues but nothing major. He would be a boon to the Tigers except, We have 7 Covered. Maybe move Reynolds to 9 and Pearce to 6 (I personally believe he is a 5/8 playing halfback. Great energy and defense, does not read plays well.).

I think the Dogs will make a play for Pearce and that will free up the Roosters to make a play for Cronk. I think we should then look at Napa, JWH or anyone we want to lift from the Roosters.

Pearce would have been a good fit here. But we have half very well covered for next year. Sadly we did not see this coming and got the best players we could at the time.

Brooks is shit and by far the worst half in the comp. He belongs in the waste lands of ESL

Pearce has won a competition, he’s a great first grader and we wouldn’t have to pay full freight. Whilst not always his biggest fan based on his off field antics, this proposal makes sense.

As for those saying wait 2 years so we can try to get Cleary, you’re dillusional

yes that comment is a little crazy .

Unless youve been in a coma for the last 6 months you'd be aware that the Dogs have no cap room

And don't ever want him.

We were not good enough for him once - he is not good enough for us now.

Touche' Turtle.

Heard this this morning;

Mitchell Pearce has no shortage of NRL clubs lining up to sign him with Manly, Newcastle, Cronulla and Wests Tigers reportedly all keen on the disgruntled Sydney Roosters halfback….............

They could let David Klemmer or Josh Jackson go…

Oh please…. We weren't good enough for Tedesco either several times... We only get what's left... WAKE UP!

Well good for you.

I am entitled to an opinion.

OR

Have I got too think like you?

Pearce and Cronk NO THANKS. But is Thurston could be lured away from the cows….

You're dreamin, me thinks. Thurston will finish his career at the Cowboys.

On Pearce, I'm pretty sure he said he never really wanted to play for the Tigers because of the shadow of his father - wanted to forge his own path or something, so I can't see him ever coming here, try as we might.
