Mitchell Pearce

Find it funny people saying his age is the issue. Pearce is 33. Ben Hunt is 33 and DCE is 34. Hunt won the Dally M last year and DCE was qld and Australian halfback
Pearce was not playing well at Newcastle before he left... interesting selection if true

I wouldn’t buy any of them, irrespective of anything else, they are coming to the end.

So Hastings is too slow. But we are interested in Pearce. We should of went after Pearce when the roosters got rid of him.
No one is saying we need pace. We need an organiser.
No one wanted to or wants to come to us on their prime. What makes you think Pearce would have given us a look in when Rorters flicked him ?
It’s easy to say could have, should have, would have.

Agree on trying to get him but $750K per season is way too much but then again these jurno's will say anything to get headlines.
2 year contract $350k per season would be ideal.
My only concern is that Pearce is not playing that well for Catalan either....very hit and miss last year and this year.
350k would make sense

if we have cap money for 2023 may as well spend it I guess , can't hurt fir 2023 Pearce is entertaining 7 option that wakeham.
As for 2024 who knows

Look DCE at 34 is still going strong but cmon lets be serious $750k for a 34yr who hasn’t played NRL for a few years as a retirement package is rubbish.

If true it clearly shows how bare the options are for players wanting to come here.

I don't hate the signing as a short term fix and if it means Brooks is not resigned bonus.
Whilst Hastings is better than Brooks i get the impression that not to many of his team mates stand him. And our team is better with Bateman in it.
If It meant we needed to let Hastings go to get Bateman we are infront.
I think Pearce is better than Hastings.
Lets see what happens.

Few years ? It was 2021 - Only missed 1 season of NRL if he comes this year which you'd assume it would be

I would not be so sure about that,Sheens has never seemed to have been one to adjust when things are not working. He is as stubborn as a mule
As much as Sheens deserves the criticism, I do have respect for him, not turning over and giving up. Despite being a stubborn old man, he is always thinking.

Worse case, he will unearth some young talent in the 2 years he is here.

He has better eye for talent than most at our club.

So Tim Schemes’s 5 year plan has lasted 4 weeks 🤣
He Brings in Wakeham on minimal wage to mentor our 1.1M superstar now there’s talk of Bringing in the worlds oldest player to mentor him as well

Just fold the dump
And bringing in Pearce is the best idea he's had, thats how sad his tenure is.

It's amazing what regular game time in SL away from the pressure of NRL can do for playmakers. We really need to set up a swap deal with the UK. They send a young forward for 2 years to learn how the NRL train, compete and play, while we send young playmakers over to learn there own game and gain confidence.

Lam is a good player and may just come back a very good half.
That is a really good idea, we help develop forwards, they help develop halves like a sister programme with a particular club. I like it.
