MOLTZEN INJURED

@Goose said:
I addressed your concerns with his knee, in both responses, and as I have said twice previously, he was able to complete a full offseason, and physically will be fully recovered, and has had an entire offseason to work on timing , combinations and structures etc…
He will gain little or nothing from playing NSW cup. The days of bringing guys through reserve grade went out with leather balls and the magic sponge

I think he is passed proving himself, he is clearly a classy first grade player. The only question is where he plays

Everyone has to prove themselves to a dgree when coming back from a major injury. Unless Lui gets injured in the trials, i cant see Sheens throwing Moltzen into the starting side, so in my opinion, a full game in state cup would be more benficial for Tim Moltzen than a short stint off the bench in the NRL. You can train all you want, and i know todays training is a lot more game simulated then past era's, but theres nothing like game time.

7\. Tim Moltzen…no brainer

WRONG.

I agree with Poster: King Sirro 100%
You trippin if you think otherwise.

Demps,

A quick note: Geo has a huge man-crush on Timmy Moltzen and staunchly believes he should wear the #7, don't try to persuade him otherwise mate

Lui can keep the jersey warm until moltz is fully fit

While it's true that Moltzen may have physically recovered from his knee injury, nobody will know, especially Moltzen, if he has mentally recovered. It takes a while to have 100% confidence that an injury like that isn't going to go pop again at any moment.
You've only got to look at Benji as the prime example of this. I don't remember him playing anything but NRL after his shoulder injuries and he was an absolute passenger in defence for a long time and relied alot on his team-mates to hide him. Then after his knee reconstruction he was only half the player in attack, again for quite a while. They were also one of the big reasons we failed to make the semi's for four years. We all know 9,7,6 and 1 are the pivotal postions and you just can't risk a bloke straight up.
I think Moltzen is our long term 7, but we've got three good halfback :righton: coverage now, so why not use it?

While it has now been confirmed that Moltz rolled his ankle - is it as serious as the grade 3 tear initially suggested - ruling him out for the first couple of rounds??

Benji has suffered a knee injury, but never had a knee reconstruction as a result of it.

Don't think so red, from the way Sheens spoke about it on WTV he sounded like being a round 1 prospect, although what position is obviously the hot topic around here at the moment.

LOL Tsk, tsk, tsk….
Sheens was playing Lui @ #7 even when Moltz was fully fit earlier last year.

All you guys can hug your Moltzen dolls from the side line whilst Lui runs on the in #7 jersey.

So the original thread post was true - I think some of you guys owe Tiga4eva an apology.

I apologize. Great early call Tiger4Eva.

Interesting that Lote debunked it on Twitter though!?

Thats alright mate, felt weird to be the "Fitzy" member of the forum for a couple of days.

Geeze how long have I been saying Lui>Moltz @ 7? Been fighting with Kul, Geo etc. for ages about it now

Time will answer all questions.

I like Lui @ 7 though my patience as a die hard wont allow him to keep doing the silly mistakes.

smart dude.
swear some of these dudes are soft for moltz, lui is the man for the job…
machina muerte !!

Opinions Demps, opinions…you have yours, other people have theirs, and inevitably we never all agree on them. Just be mindful to keep it respectful. For the record, I just want an in-form player playing at 7\. Whether it is Lui or Moltzen is somewhat irrelevant to me, both guys can play and I have no doubt there is room for both of them in the team.

IMO Moltzen has a better passing game running game and short kicking game all over LUI….but he can play fullback albiet not as good as in the halves....so...

1 more thing BENJI loves the bloke,,,wot Benji wants Benji gets when it comes to Sheens.....time will tell

Footy is back
:sign: woot woot

And they are ALL 5/8TH NOT HALFBACKS... :crazy

Benji compared Lui to Scott Prince and even though I hate him, I do rate him as a footballer.

Also, right from the start, I have been saying Lui for Rd 1, even before Moltzen injury and even during Lui incident (if he was passed not guilty). I have never made such claims as Lui is long term halfback, Moltzen is long term halfback etc. as I consider these as rubbish predictions.

I agree Moltzen may have a better running game and support play for any other halfback in the comp, but we have fullbacks for that job, Lui needs to support Benji and he has a better passing game than many other halfbacks in the comp. I also agree with the stuff Kul brought up earlier about Lui being slow and weak in defense but I believe his passing game makes up for it more than anything.

No assumptions of Lui being a long term halfback or him being better than Moltzen but he shld've always been no.7 for Rd1 since the end of last year. Maybe even a few weeks extra as well, as I have hope that he will be able to secure that spot.

could not agree more!

but i'd go further, his long kicking is also better, and his defence is better, and clearly as a much lower mistake rate.

I dont think they are even close in ability. Moltzen may end up at fullback, and I rate him in that role.

I have said it earlier, I think those that are saying how well Lui finished the season well, are over emphasising the saints game, Lui was very good in that game, look back one earlier and watch the Canberra game and to a lesser extent the Roosters game (particuarly from about the 70 minute) and after watching that tell me how good he finished the year. 2 very frustrating nights.

I have no doubt he has potential, but as it stands lui has a way to go, and we have a man who has 8 wins from 8 starts at half…impressive record
