Moltzen knee injury?

it doesn't really matter that much, i think he said in his bio it was genetic and he'd need more surgery there before he was 40\. to keep rehabing and injuring yourself in very similar (and therefore seemingly inevitable) circumstances takes an enormous mental toll. and i respect benji for overcoming that.

moltzen is going through a similar thing, although luckliy this injury is very different, a skeletal one as opposed to muscular, although it is on the same knee, and we are yet to see if he can bounce back. if he can't then we will probably have to part ways.

His and Blair's salaries could go a long way to buying a marquee 2nd rower or whatever we need in 10 months. things will change and we'll see who is truly good and where we need strength.

I have a great deal of sympathy for him in regards to all the pain both physical and mental that he has undergone and will continue to have in regards to his injuries.I am not a fan of him in regards to his play but he undoubtedly has talent i hope he has a speedy and complete recovery but he realistically has to evaluate his future and premature retirement has to be uppermost in his mind.If he decides to continue playing i have no doubt he will be very tentative which is something that many people dislike him for myself included.
Whatever he decides i wish him all the best in the future

Regardless of your opinion of the player, a fully fit option is always better than an injured non-option.

I always feel sorry for footballers who get long-term injuries, it must do your head in when your body is your career.

I can't help but feel sorry for Tim, He has suffered injury after injury, I guess he must be wondering if it's all worth it. He's a player that I always thought had plenty of talent, but just didn't get the opportunity to show what he had, :righton: . So thanks Tim, and I do hope you recover and are given the opportunity to play for us again 😛ray:

Doesn't seem fair :frowning:

I think that's fair enough. There is some chance that he will playing football later this season and he doesn't deserve to be dumped just because he suffered an unfortunate injury whilst training.

6 months means he should come back before the halfway point of the season.

but the NRL should definitely introduce some salary cap relief if a player is DEFINITELY out for the rest of the season. Club just applies, that player is not permitted to play in any game for the rest of the year (Origin, NRL, NSW Cup, NYC) no matter what. And his salary doesn't count to the cap. NFL has something similar.

or at the very least, allow us to move him out of the top 25 into the second tier with the obvious restrictions, so that you can start the season with a full squad. There would have to be some fine print to stop teams taking advantage, but all over it would show a duty of care so players arent rushed back early.

feel sorry for him

so I guess the 5/8 is between Austin and Anasta…...............I hope Austin kills it in the trials......

Moses ? I know its a pretty big risk going with two rookies in the halves, but they do know each others game, I certainly wouldn't discount it.

Moses has effectively been ruled out for an early NRL debut due to niggling injuries. Coaching staff have been fairly upfront about it.

Even if Moses was fit to play round one he wouldn't be because he needs to put on some more weight as he is way to light to play in first grade, as the coaches have already said

It was during a vigorous opposed session, but there was no contact in Moltzens incident, he was in mid air when it occured and he landed awkwardly.
The kneecap actually dislocated as well as fractured, they put it back in place at the ground before removing him to hospital for surgery the following day.
The fractured kneecap will be wired together, and they believ he will miss the next 12 weeks - not as long as first thought.

He will miss the next 12 weeks will he ? So given the comp starts in about 12 weeks he should be right for round 1 should he ? Maybe you should have written he will miss at least the first 12 weeks of the competition.

i think he meant just 12 weeks? cause 6 months would probably have him back by round 12 but it ended being not as bad as thought. so 2-3 months instead.
