Moltzen knee injury?

Gee I feel for the kid!…this was going to be his first REAL shot at cementing a FG position...Only a real strong (physical and mental) person can come back again...I'd say that's it for 2014 for Tim...is he contracted to us next year?...I hope so so he can possibly come back and prove himself and possibly get another NRL contract

wow…. this sucks. he musta put so much time in from round 7 till now.

really hope it's just some kind of painful twist or strain not another tear.

was looking forward to seeing how he went as a running 6 ahead of austin and anasta. but perhaps not anymore....

I don't like the guy at all, but I appreciate that three ACL injuries in 5 years is pretty heartbreaking given all the training, physio and rehab he would have gone through just to get it right again. The doctors may well tell him to have a look at the LARS surgery, since the traditional surgeries don't seem to be doing the job.

Two issues arise when attempting the LARS surgery

And again this is straight from my surgeon as it was a possibility with my reco

You need a good "stump" of the ACL to work with

They are expecting follow up surgery every 5 years

So this is why as I mentioned earlier , the benefits of the typical ACL surgery are for a younger person

The LARs is more suited to someone in the latter stages of their career

Are we cursed or what. I really saw Tim filling the backup/utility role in the halves and back line. I wish him well and I hope he can once again wear our great jersey.

must be cause it's still 2013.

hopefully the new year will bring in a new era of injury freeness? :/

I can't see him coming back from this. If it is his acl again the mental hurdles he will have to overcome to get back will be massive.

potter seems to be downplaying it. he said he doesn't think its a dislocation or an ACL. so it mightnt be so bad?

This is awful news. Its got to be tough on Moltzen constantly going through the recovery process.

Hopefully its not the ACL or something major.

From the Potter interview, the vibe I was getting was its a ACL for sure, but left the door open for some very unlikely good new, but I think he knows its season over for Tim. Like all good coaches he was trying to remain positive

This school they train at… Is it a quality surface or a goat track?

St Luke's is a park literally across the road from Concord Oval. They train there every pre-season and the U20s use it through the year. Surface is fine.

Brent Tate came back from three ACL's and still represented Qld and Australia

It all comes down to Tim's mental toughness whether he can or can't

Dean Ritchie ‏@BulldogRitchie 23s
@Wests_Tigers player Tim Moltzen has cracked kneecap and will be out for between 12 weeks and six months.

We cant seem to miss a trick with injuries lately...

We used to play there when I was in school…its a public park...Actually the Magpies very first home ground.
Bad luck for Moltz

Very doubtful that that is what it is. Usual mechanism is contact and pretty strong contact too. Not going to judge anything until the club says something over Ritchie
