Moltzen knee injury?

i think he meant just 12 weeks? cause 6 months would probably have him back by round 12 but it ended being not as bad as thought. so 2-3 months instead.

Who knows what he meant ….... The old grey horse ain't what he used to be !

It was during a vigorous opposed session, but there was no contact in Moltzens incident, he was in mid air when it occured and he landed awkwardly.
The kneecap actually dislocated as well as fractured, they put it back in place at the ground before removing him to hospital for surgery the following day.
The fractured kneecap will be wired together, and they believ he will miss the next 12 weeks - not as long as first thought.

If the kneecap was broken they wouldn't be much concerned with putting it back 'into place' at the ground. It would have been in two pieces, some distance apart due to the quad recoil. If they're using tension band wiring it suggests a clean break, since it's not a method required for fractures. Had a broken kneecap over twenty years ago. A very difficult rehab because it plays such a vital role in the articulation of the knee. associated problems include cartilage loss behind the kneecap, the loss of muscle size, particularly the quad, tracking of the kneecap through the groove in the femur and the fact that the bone grows back in excess of 50% it's normal size. Moltzen would have been better off breaking his tib and fib
