Moltzen Staying Or Going

i know its not the right thing to do… but what punishment is it to Lui to do the wrong thing, to only walk into another contract with another NRL team... so the only one who looses out is us in this case.. This is where the NRL needs to step in IF HE IS FOUND GUILTY... they talk about bringing the game into disrepute and this is a classic case

Agreed. It was the same for the Raiders with Carney. One club takes action only for another to benefit. It hardly encourages clubs to release players to be seen to be doing something to curb the behaviour, when somebody else goes and snaps the player up particularly when the player is a capable player in a position that is hard to fill. It kind of seems like the real punishment is being dished out to the "former"club, not the player.

I'd agree T-Rexx, but the NRL are NOT gona get involved in this one… No one wants to be involved in something along these lines. Its ugly and messy now considering the Tigers were very influential in the first incident being withdrawn. Distance is the best position.... I wouldnt be suprised if Humpty personaly drives him to Townsville to ensure he gets there and then he can wipe his hands of all this?!

It might not be the most ethical position, but its business and I'd be moving this as far away as possible from my business so I can then say to my stakeholders "its fixed".

i agree totally Tiger Watto, its good to know the tigers will take action if found guilty, its just at the end of the day, the Tigers are the ones who loose a half back that we have been needing for soooo long. And the Cowgirls gain a good quality player.
oh wells.. them the brakes.. Bring on Moltz/Miller

why condemn lui for a human flaw - let him change clubs and play. Our goal in Lui's case is to make a man out of him. It aint working at the tigers, sheens cant control this, maybe the cowboys can - live and let live.

Interesting, the article claim Wests Tigers are looking at playing Moltzen at half back, how good is their source I wonder.

I think it's fair Troy. If a team can't control a player, they lose out. I'm happy if another team picks a player up and maybe can fix their behavior. What would be worse is if a player is let lose with no responsibilities to anyone.

It's the same with Todd Carney. The Roosters had their chance to reform him, they didn't. See if the Sharkies can get the bloke on the straight and narrow…. my guess is no, but the management there should have a shot.

The way you talk about it, it as though is wests tigers fault that Rob went home and bashed his partner. Yes, the club has some responsibility to provide a healthy environment but there's only so much 'control' a club can have. In the end it comes down to the player.

If Lui is found guilty he won't be playing anywhere, but the chances are he won't be. How many times to footballers ever actually get found guilty? especially when it involves their partner?

I agree that if he simply goes to NQ its a bit ridiculous. where is the punishment? The problem is if these guys keep getting found not guilty by the courts then how can the NRL or the clubs credibly punish them for something that they haven't officially done?

In any case I won't be too sad to see Lui go. He has enourmous potential but his defense just isn't NRL standard and his horrific attempt on Mateo might be the reason we're not the premiers right now. If we manage to keep Moltz there is enough attacking flair in the team. Give Miller a run I'm sure he'll do a great job. and if not there are a few other options, moltz to 7, Grant, brown or reddy to fb. Please do NOT sign Orford!

It's a tough situation. I think the Lui incident is very different to Carney and I have no idea how the club responded to the first incident.

Completely agree. The onus and blame is solely the player and they will be punished by the courts and through their salary.

But separately, if a club has not instilled the right attitude in a player, then I have no problem with another club having a go. Maybe Nth QLD can instill a better moral compass into Lui then the Tigers could? He is better trying to be reformed somewhere else, then not reformed at all after (if any) punishment comes his way.

I agree Costaki, DO NOT SIGN ORFORD!!!

I know thisis going to sound really dumb but I rekon their is a big conspiracy behind this whole lui debacle. Exact to the year the same incident happens with the exact same events losing semi's, big bender drink your sorrows away yarde yardaa… but it has been rumoured for months before the incident that lui was going to the cowgirls anyhow, now even before being found guilty we are going to sack him (benji got no disciplinary even though you cant judge someone having a push in the city to hitting your female partner), but before being found guilty last year lui was just stood down no fine from the club and starts playing again...... now all of a sudden after 3 months of signing a new three deal which was announced july/august this year that molzten signed with the dragons, we have turned around and said yeah we want him and we are not giving the realese form and will probably stay with us.....

Im either going absolulty nuts thinking this way which i think i am or do all these form of events just fall into play perfectly... I know its low to think like that but are the tigers playing favourites for moltzen, does benji really have that much input in the team lol it just sounds weirdand all to perfectly timed, if my far fetched thought were true I hope our club never went that low ... again very left field just a random thought

You mean that Mad Monday rumour about Lui and Beau arguing that was written in some papers?

If Doh'ford signs, that'll do me >_< NO NO NO NO NOOOO!

Isaac John (very talent NZ Half playing for Vulcans) has been told by the Warriors he is free to look another another club..he has a great passing game and can kick goals. Tigers should be looking at him rather than ORFORD…least they'll get their moneys worth!
If not, go with Miller or Sironen if we don't get to keep Moltzen.

lol no not that one….

Wests Tigers are also looking at playing Tim Moltzen at halfback, provided the club retains him after he signed a second contract with St George Illawarra.
Is it just me,or is there others scratching their heads and saying to themselves Moltz to halfback?
This one has to be a quadruple sommersault gold medal quote.
99% of fans wanted him in the number 7,but were told he will be a superstar in the number 1.
We must be on the verge of signing a superstar fullback, o hang on maybe Brown is getting a crack.

For gods sake Tim go to the dragons i am sick and tired of all this rubbish you signed a contract with the Dragons for 3 years you were told to look around and you did. What if you stay and dont impress next season and are told to look around again where do you go then, you have 3 years to set yourself up so go mate and good luck

Funny how when the DT publish stuff most people here wanna hear, theres a sudden evaporation of the
"But its the Telecrap theyre fulla s–t" posts.

Tauber needs to get 4 months worht of correspondence together - LOL- I can picture him going thru his suit pockets gathering scraps of paper, details on coasters, texts etc...doesnt come across too professionally

I said the same thing when all of the Blair bashers were whinging about the '500K' rumors. I couldn't work out how everyone would say they never believe anything they read in the telecrap, yet from the get-go, they took the '500K' talk as gospel. People just believe what they want to believe

Exactly, and most players tell the groupies **what they want to hear**, gets em outta their hair quicker.
