Moltzen Staying Or Going

@Chief44 said:
Even if Moltzen does stay….what does this do for our reputation? Surely the Tigers are one of the more liked teams in the competition, but would these whole series of events change that? I should dearly hope not, and I should also hope that Moltzen takes that into consideration.

Does what other clubs think really matter to you? I mean, were there Manly fans up all night celebrating their grand final win, then as dawn's rosy fingers began to creep across the curtain of night they found themselves having a quiet moment of contemplation thus: "this is great, but I can't help but feel it would be even better if we were a little more popular with fans of Parramatta". Unlikely, I'd say.

I admit it's not a bad thing that the Tigers aren't wildly unpopular, but I'd give it up in a hearbeat to make the team on the field a little better. And to be honest I can't see this affecting our popularity anyway - everyone hates the Dragons and will probably be laughing if we get one over on them.

he didn't threaten anything, he told someone it might be an option who told a journo who turned it into a 'threat'.

Plus bureacracy takes a long time, that's the whole point of it. If we had an answer by the end of this week that would be a miracle, considering things were only made official about 2 weeks ago. People are just bored at the end of the season and are looking for something footy-related to cling to

Even if it was just something he suggested might be an option in passing to a mate, it still makes him look like a brat for even entertaining the thought of it. If he is forced to leave, be a man and be a professional about it. As has already been said alot throuhout this thread, his image is being put through the ringer over this

Still going with this, is see. You admitted yesterday that the Telegraph story is most likely a load of crap yet here you are again with "if he's done this, if he said that". If my aunty had bollocks she'd be my uncle.

I was responding to a suggestion that it was something he said in passing to a mate. And again if you read closely, you'll notice i used the word 'if'. I'm not saying this is what he said at all, but rather IF ( see theres that word again) he did, then it proves he's a spoilt brat.

Dude, read what I'm saying: if this, if that. If it turns out Tim Moltzen's a neo nazi I don't want him at the club. If he suddenly turns into Andrew Johns I want to get him on a 10-year deal. If he's threatened to sit out the season blah blah - point is, none of us know anything. So who cares what it means IF he's done A, B or C. Please stop repeating what you think of him based on an if.

Anyway, all good. You're a good fan and I just disagree with you on this. Off to get drunk, hope you all pick a winner (assuming you're on the same nag as I am).

What a joke. The guy agreed via handshake or signature now he goes back on his word. Wests should be telling him to go. Poor in my opinion. But it's just my opinion. Humphries should go. No coincidence the guy came from qantas.

I counted 3 rule violations in your post, hence it was deleted.

another mod may be kind enough to remove the rule violations and reinstate your post.

There should be a press conference or Media Release tomorrow stating that we are retaining Moltzens services. Sponsor told me this today at lunch. P.S he wasnt drunk when he told me.

It makes you wonder why the NRL aren't making the announcement instead of the Tigers or the Dragons or am I reading too much into it

Did the sponsor have much to say about the whole Moltzen situation?

But thats my point Why do sponsors know ?? Shouldn't the league community as a whole find out all the same time
Why is the NRL discussing the decision to be made before it is announced ??

I think both clubs know of the decision therefore information may have been leaked. Not sure of the timing of the announcement though. "Smoking Gun" said something on this forum about a week ago that he would be staying and he works for the club.

Benji6 I'm not having a go but I think your missing my point Point I'm making is why has the NRL discussed this with anyone bar themselves and their legal advice before they announce it to the fans
