Club Statement Regarding Moltzen Signing
5/10/2011 6:51:10 PM

St George Illawarra Dragons CEO Peter Doust On Wednesday issued the following regarding the signing of Tim Moltzen:

"Tim Moltzen and his Manager have signed a three-year deal with the Dragons," said Doust.

"We have not had any conversations or received any other information from either Tim or his Manager that would suggest he would not be at the Dragons in 2012."

haha, so really, nothing doing what so ever! Telegraph and RLW strike again…

I have heard whispers that Prince is still on the cards.

Feels unethical to me. Do deals and contracts mean anything to anybody anymore?

Depends if both parties agree.

I thought the contract was done midyear.
Also, I was also referring more to Gibbs, Fifita, Mckinnon etc. being released when their contract was not finished.
It feels like signatures on paper are mere signatures not their words.

But as Sheens said, its not like they are being kicked to the curb and left out in the cold, in most cases they are taking up lucrative contracts

Wests Tigers this evening issued the following statement in regards to today's rumour that Tim Moltzen was seeking to stay at Wests Tigers for 2012:

Whilst it was announced earlier this year by St George-Illawarra Dragons that Tim had signed a new contract with them to commence in 2012, Wests Tigers has not granted him a release from his existing contract with the Club that expires at the end of next season.

The matter is ongoing and the Club will work with Tim’s Manager and the Dragons to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.

Let's hope that ^^ is the last we hear of it!
Miller for halfback, Brown for fullback and Moltzen to the dragons.

As I said a few pages back we still have the right today yes
Or no he can go. If tigers have not given written approval to Nrl they can't
Register his contract untill then. He is contracted till end of 2012.

Tigers can re nig if they want after all he is under contract with us.

With Lui more then likely going, Dwyer not playing next year Tye tigers now have a good solid 300k-500k free.

Yeah I know … the one from the tigers wasn't up when I posted ... oh well - I get to look like a dufus 😕 :crazy

According to the Tigers statement it looks like we're going to be able to legally get Moltzen out of his contract with the Dragons. We may not even need to provide compensation either? It's going to be an interesting next few days…

Contract law has so many grey areas that this could get real messy, real quickly.

& if we're looking at having Moltzen at 7 to replace Lui then I think we're asking for trouble. His passing game is not good enough for the halves and he's another player who will fit right in to not taking the safe option and kicking to the corner with a few minutes to go a la the Warriors game.
