Moltzen

Thought he had a good game.

One dropped bomb which i thought he was interfered with.

I was impressed with his defence tonight.
Stopped Allgood over the line and almost save the Loko try, had a 2 on one and managed to hold up Keating.

If Timmy holds this up it might be a bit longer till we see James T in the side.

WESTS TIGERS Pos l (m) Hitups (m) Runs (m) D/Half (m) 1st Rec. (m) Ruck Run (m) Kick Ret. (m)
1\. Tim Moltzen Fullback 5 (27m) 3 (25m) 2 (2m)
Molten is very poor at kick return metres ,

Rnd 1 he's running the ball back at pace
Rnd 2 he's running every other ball back at pace
Rnd 3 he's seconding who to pass it to before he's taken it

He's defense was good
He's high ball work was good
He's positioning was good.

If he just runs back at speed ala hayne tonight he will keep the position longer.

Had a good game bar kick returns (maybe dropping it off to wingers is in the game plan - im starting to think it is)
Dont like him screaming at players when something goes wrong….back to his old tricks, I really loathe that.

First option pass in every situation cannot be the game plan… Wont drill him all over, his positional play was good, hung in there to diffuse the try, and scored himself, but the only option pass crap (unless coached) is for skirts.

Had another near faultless game tonight. The chance to prepare in the off season playing fullback has given him a lot of confidence and Mick Potter has taught him well. And No It's not the game plan.

idk i reckon you misread this, sheens always said he was a good talker and i think potter mentioned it to. Just cause he's yelling doesn't necessarily mean hes abusing them. And i agree it would be great to see him sprint back into the defensive line but if marika is there he should give to him everytime, much prefer to have koro run at the line than moltzen

You would think he would want a few more meters run but he really doesn't try.

Good game overall. May have to share FB with Tedesco next week if Koro is out.

I agree, his defence was very good, that dropped ball was clear interference. But in attack we still miss his support play, a number of times Woods looked to offload and there was no one around. Also his meters run :frowning: he already won wooden spoon in this category

He was abusing them after the try. Doesn't look like we will get him out of the team anytime soon.

Tedesco must have run for over 200 metres last week..takes Moltzen 4 games to reach 200m.

Lets see what he does against Manly and Storm.

Probably easiest thing to fix though. Come a long way from last season. Koro running kick returns is scary. It's almost like having Koro at fb minus defensive/catching liability. Maybe that's what Potter is going for.

I say its in the game plan, turn the ball to Reddy or Koro, they crash it up,quick play the ball and Moltzen is alive if anything comes from the play the ball up the middle. Also you keep doing it for weeks than out of the blue you hit the throttle and go yourself.

No im not misreading this.
Theres talk from the back during play, directions, instructions, encouragement etc ….and there aggro accusing talk towards an individual whoever it might be after our lines been crossed, the body language is always the same.
Ive seen it 5 or 6 times now over a few years

Did you see jarryd hayne talk to his winger who flicked it back in goal toward him for moltzens try?
"Dont worry bout it mate"

but every time? he looked for the pass 100% of the time, its horses for courses, and sometime head down and take the tackle is the right option. If he is half the ball player he thinks he is then it should be natural.

Jarryd needed a butt kicking for just not diving on the pass
