I genuinely dont get the love of some here for Momers. I dont dislike him and I think he is a solid first grade player in the mold of Shane Elford but Ive never seen him do anything impressive.
His fans here regularly quote his try scoring strike rate, but they are all catch and crash tries, I cant remember him beating a player.
I mean if you literally watched any of his 2019 tries like ive posted video clips numerous times in this thread you would see that barely any are “catch and crash” like you said
But his haters love to ignore that of course
No worries, post them up again
I can’t be bothered proving obvious trolls wrong.
Obvious trolls? I said he is a good solid player, hardly trolling. You said you had proof I was wrong and that most of his tries were not short range.
Only one of us is not backing up his words.
You said that most of his tries he barely beat one player...fairly inaccurate, watch the tries from the dogs game onwards and you’ll be pleasantly surprised
I dont have time to trawl through videos, Im relying on my memory of his play. You are welcome to post them up.
There is a difference between crashing through a flat defence 5 -10m out and actually beating a player.
I will say he used good footwork to step inside players to score his tries. He is a decent finisher, but believe we need more in that position and think we have players that play similar to him but are better.
I would ask anyone on this forum to come up with 3 wests tigers names in our 20 year history

I would ask any forum member to come up with the names of 3 past or present players for our club who have scored tries in 75% of games played (anywhere)
14 from 19 in Nrl
1 from one playing for the prime ministers 13
Sure like many have suggested he is not the world's best player
Maybe not even in our top 20
But Paul has the uncanny ability to put himself in the right spot at the right time
He has the ability to sniff out a try
You don't score 15 try's in 20 games in the worlds best competition by fluke
Wests tigers have had 236 players at our club and only one player has equaled that record
And the is Marika Korobetti
Now let that sink in a little
One player in 236
And Marika Korobetti
And what's more Marika only score 12 tries from 16 games for us
Every player to pull on our jersey has had the same opportunities
But Momorovski has taken those opportunities more than any other player in our history as far as tries v games played
The point IMO is Paul is a keeper
He can do a good job for us
And no one can discount the facts
It is the spines position to help create tries
Its players like Paul that finish them
And although not the best goal kicker in our team, he is a handy back up to have
I dont see to many players putting their hand up for that roll
Now after sticking up for Paul, should we be able to upgrade Paul in a position of need then I am all for it
Its just like a game of chess
Sometimes you have to sacrifice a pawn / player for the good of your own game
If we have the opportunity to keep Paul then I am all for it
But let's not give a release without a class replacement
Here’s what I heard today: Pathers will release Laurie in a player swap but want the Tigers to pay the difference. Momo didn’t ask for a release as such but put his hand up for the opportunity. Tigers said no because A, they want to keep Momo and B, they would be paying Laurie his contract offer plus Momo’s contract and have decided that’s a bit too expensive. Tigers have offered Cini because his development contract makeS it a cheaper negotiation. The talks continue but it seems like a done deal, just the details need to be worked out
Keeping Momo and swapping Cini for Laurie is very sensible and nobody loses.Momo is still under contract and if he has a decent year(which i expect)he can be upgraded later this year
I thought Laurie was on a development contract, just like Cini, for 2021?So nhes not gonna breal the bank to bring him over
I think we shld keep Momo too,as we know hes a NRL centre who will turn up every week.
Cini...never seen him play so cant comment like most of us
As for Laurie..an 83kg fullback who has played 3 NRL games doesnt sound like a robust must get early solution to our fullback problem tbh
Same size as Paps, similar play style too from what I've seen.
Yep...but Paps is a one in a decade....!
Coach has seen enuff to hire him,so issue is timing
Same decade as Teddy, now maybe 3 in the decade ?
Teddy was/is 94kgs so irrelevant
Slater was 87kgs...probably relevant, but one of the strongest(and most talented)
There was one before that who was the same size in the 60s,...Clive Churchill..yep,thats the one
What all these little fbs need for success is a really good defensive structure which can give them some protection...which Storm has..we dont
Weve seen many Mullaneys /Gallants etc disappearinto the ether at our club, and maybe Paps wld have too..?
Hope Luarie does great, but more than ever its a big mans game and I wldnt be putting all my options with him
Teddy filled out a fair bit after going to easts,Slater the same, god the kids only 20.why do people look for negatives?
