Does anyone know why he wants out or where too or why we have said no and if it’s for a player in return who it may be? Seems as though Laurie won’t be here this year so do we think momo won’t be going anywhere if that’s the case?

Being fair to Momo...he is the final year of a contract and needs to impress clubs to get a new / decent deal.

If reports are correct, he was told he is behind JTJ, BJ and Tommy for a center spot and very unlikely to play much.

Given that, it is completely understandable he wants to go somewhere else IMO.

I thought we gave him 2 more years post Storm??
Either way,by mid season he'll be our first centre chosen for one reason or another, and as Ive said previously re Matterson/Aloai..dont let em walk early!!!
Storm yet again taught us how to do this with JAC

Second year is a player option. If he is our 1st choice centre by midseason then we miss the 8.

That's a big call.

And one I am willing to scream out loud.

I like the guy, but if he is WT best then we are again going to be a lot worse off than eighth.

Fair enough, I get your reasoning. My thinking is a little different. I'll make three points:
1. I think Momorovski has improvement in him but I'm not sure BJ or Jimmy do.
2. There are 12 other players on the field. It's not all up to Momo.
3. A blast from the dim, dark past. At the end of the 1979 season Wests lost 3 internationals in Boyd, Brown and Dorahy to Manly and didn't recruit any quality. I would have bet any money they'd be wooden spooners in 1980 but they finished 3rd winning 14 of 22 games.
Anything is possible even Momo being number one centre in a Tigers team that makes the 8.

I agree with this point but it's the reason why we will struggle if Momo is in the centres. We need guys contributing all over the park and by that I mean we need attacking weapons all over the park. Momo isn't an attacking weapon. We also have a fair few options in the centres that have the ability to create something.

Dude, Brenko Lee won a premiership playing centre lol. It will be up to our spine mainly

We don't have a spine or a pack or even a set of outside backs like that. Brenko Lee kept Momo out of that team as well.

Momo is a fringe first grader. He can probably be the centre in a gun team that wins the comp but you are going to need a bunch of players who outperform in other positions.

We can't afford to have a centre like Momo because we don't have the quality across the park that the top teams have.

I honestly don't think he has a lot of improvement left, I believe he is playing at his pick already. Bj is the fittest I have ever seen him so hope to see him more involved this season and hopefully the greater fitness level decreases the brain snaps as well.

Honestly, if Momo is our 1st choice centre at any point, our season has been on life support for a number of weeks before we resort to Momo.

Dude. You are basically saying Momo is terrible, because players in our team are not good enough?

I am still yet to find a "fringe first grader" that can score 14 tries in 19 games, and kick 21/29 goals in his first two seasons. Like it actually doesn't even sound like you're judging his football ability anymore, it genuinely feels like you have some personal hatred towards him

A fringe first grader would mean they struggle heaps . Like a Kyle Lovett, Nathan Milone type player etc (as an example). Players who never really lit a fuse.

I mean, we were a Cronulla leichhardt oval game away from making the 8 in 2019 (with Momo) with a much lesser team than we have now.

But that didn't happen remember

I don't believe and this is just my opinion that the 14 tries in 19 games makes him a quality NRL player. I haven't seen lightning pace or the ability to bust the line with power like Latrell for instance. I see a slow player who lacks explosive power but has great fundamentals.

He runs the right line, he can beat a man or multiple men when he is put into a good position, he will take an intercept and I think his defense is decent. The problem is we now have players like Manu, BJ, Roberts, Staggs, Crichton etc who are dynamic and you can give them the ball and they can impact the game.

Momo wasn't good enough to make our top team or the Storm or the Roosters. That is why I called him a fringe first grader.

I like him as a player but we don't have a top quality team where you can chuck Momo in there and because he is a cheap option you can build a good team around him.

If it was 1984 .

The game has changed. The players are now athletes.

What's your definition of attacking weapon though? He could find his way to the try line as good as anyone in our team, and that's all that matters isn't it?

As a centre I would like to see him be able to create room and set up his outside man, that is where I believe he falls below the other centres at the club.

I think we've debunked the myth that not every player needs "lightning speed" to bust through a gap. For the record he had just on 10 line breaks and many more tackle busts in 2019 btw.

He literally WAS playing for Melbourne but got injured. Your typical Momers hater ignores the injured part though lol

We have Mbye remember... the definition of a strike weapon

Look both bj and jet will start the season unless injury! Talau has shown more promise than Momo so he starts. I like Momo he’s solid and great to have in our lineup just incase injury or suspension. He will be very useful for us this year! Really strong depth to have Momo in our lineup! It is what it is, he will definitely get a go sometime this year and let’s see how he goes.
