If it was 1984 .

If Momo was playing in 1984 he would now be over 60 years old, and we complain about Benji not wanting to retire.

Why would Momo not want to stay, he has a player option for next season which should almost take him out to the old age pension.

But on a serious note, I like Momo but if something works out that is mutually beneficial to both him and the club, well than best of luck, but I for one will be keeping an eye on how he is going wherever he ends up.

To get Laurie I would let him go if that deal could be arranged.

What is happening with the Cini swap? Do Penrith just see him as not a like for like swap where as Momo is more appealing to them?

No idea, but if it has happened by now then I can't see it happening.

Yeah I agree, tbh it doesn't sound like Penrith were ever interested in the Cini swap. Moreso us trying to push it onto them

When you look at our depth at fullback and 5/8th you can see why we would be extremely keen to get Laurie over for 21.

A blast from the dim, dark past. At the end of the 1979 season Wests lost 3 internationals in Boyd, Brown and Dorahy to Manly and didn’t recruit any quality. I would have bet any money they’d be wooden spooners in 1980 but they finished 3rd winning 14 of 22 games.
Anything is possible even Momo being number one centre in a Tigers team that makes the 8.

Also lost Raudonikis and O'Grady to Newtown as well, 5 rep players in one off season leaving, unheard of stuff

So you are saying for 2021 if we want Laurie and have to flick Momo (not sure this is even being considered by the club) - DO IT.

I would definitely trade Momo for Laurie. We have a bunch of guys who can play centre and I can't see Momo being first or second picked in the team.

We also have Mbye as basically our only option at 1. Kepaoa is another option at fullback but personally I don't think he is ready for that spot.

So to me it makes sense to trade Momo for Laurie. If we don't get anything in return I would definitely keep Momo as I expect him to play a role for us this year.

Firstly tries being the only measurement. BJ Leilua scored 39 tries in 5 years at Canberra, which is a modest try-scoring rate (7.8 per annum). But he was Dally M centre of the year twice in that 5-year period.

Second logical fallacy of comparison of early-career vs mid/end-career players. We didn't sign Joey or Jimmy from 2012, we signed them in 2020/21. James Tedesco only managed to take the field 28 times in his first 3 seasons, scored 14. Jimmy Jet scored 11 times in 16 matches, which is a superior strike rate to Tedesco's first 3 seasons.

I do agree Mommers is a good backup. Certainly keeping him is the aim, Tigers have said so in denying a release.

Yeah I actually think this is a storm in a tea cup, fuelled by the media because there just hasn’t been any negative news around us this off season, so they had to make something up.

I think Momo will stay and he will definitely get his chance in the top grade. He only has to wait until JL loses the plot which probably won’t be too long into the season. I don’t expect Joey will be any better for us this year than he was last year, that ship has sailed.

And how long do you think the jet will last

Do you want that in Days ,Hours ,Minutes or seconds

I think the argument was that Momvorsks inability to set up his outside man was his biggest downfall, however his knack of sniffing out a try was glaringly good. And in comparison to the Jet and BJ in their first two years, even better.

If scoring tries was a measurement of how good you are, Alex Johntson would have won a few dally ms by now

Read yesterday that Dean Whare could be on the move to Catalans Dragons. Maybe that creates the space for Momo to move to Riff and Laurie gets granted and early release to Tigers?

I agree with this point but it's the reason why we will struggle if Momo is in the centres. We need guys contributing all over the park and by that I mean we need attacking weapons all over the park. Momo isn't an attacking weapon. We also have a fair few options in the centres that have the ability to create something.
