Disappointed to hear this on many fronts
Firstly,he sacrificied his NRL slot with us at our benefit to join Storm...he did US a favor.
Secondly ,he did better than ok..Bellamy said he wld have been in the run on side for the finals if he hadnt been injured,so hes obviously got some talent.I can think of any other WT player who wld make Storm run on side btw
Lastly, given the above,I cant see why he wldnt be one of the first centres picked....no-one has any idea whether JTJ is gonna make it(including himself),and Joey L may or may not turn up just like his entire career
U wonder why players arent loyal to WTs..we show no loyalty or comittment to them

If the Jet and JLo are fit n healthy they're our starting pair, it's that simple.
Not the most reliable 2 players so Momo could probably see a fair bit of gametime but there's no way he's getting a spot in front of them unless he's improved out of sight.

I can't see him getting a starting gig at any NRL club, he'll have to wait for his opportunity just like everyone else

He literally played 10 games for the premiers last year before he got injured to be fair...

He literally played 6, to be accurate.

Sorry, my point still stands though. He was a mainstay with the eventual premiers until injury struck.

I can't see how momo and Laurie swap can work. Laurie is still on a development contract meaning not in the top 30 squad and on minimum wage.

A swap for momo would take an extra squad spot and cap $$$$ to for the panthers.

And how many outside backs do the bulldogs want?

I wonder if they would be interested in a Will Hopoate swap? Would be a solid fullback option for us until Laurie arrives, then centre depth going forward. Would be a good result for us I think.

Hopoate? Really? I think I’d prefer my armless grandfather!! We already have/had enough bulldog rejects don’t need anymore!!

Big no to Hoppa for mine. Isn’t what our club needs IMO, also would help dogs cap and is another “utility” that we don’t need. Solid but not spectacular enough to warrant an enquiry.

Thank God we are finally starting to act like a credible NRL club, by not letting someone go without something or someone in return.

I would play Momo at centre before BJL ...his attitude stinks and his performances are mediocre at best ! At least Momo portrays some professionalism and can kick goals all BJL offers is if he feels like playing on any given day !
Having to play Reggie’s behind a totally unprofessional player would be deflating good luck to him as he certainly has a future unfortunately at another club !

Decides to stay on for two years and now wants out before even returning to us.

He needs to be held onto in case JTJ or BJ get injured.

Doeihi would be better suited to centre then 5/8 in my opinion.,and Kei is due mid year.

I remember the committment shown by a slow centre (first name Shane) who played in Wests tigers 2005 grand final and did a magnificent job in the GF and throughout the 2005 season. Speed isn't the only criteria for a centre. How many games have Wests Tigers lost due to fast/lazy centres making defensive mistakes which have let in tries and cost the team matches which have stopped entry into the final 8?

Spot on.Think Momo cld also handle fullback comfortably, and has played a GF at 6.
Reliable, good defender ,drama free ad kicks goals....and we wanna punt him for a couple of maybes who almost certainly wont be here next year one way or the other
Beginning to understand why we are where we are

Which GF did he play in?

Under 7’s ... lost

TIGERS SWAP THAT COULD DELIVER FULLBACK TARGET A YEAR EARLY

The Wests Tigers are hopeful of luring fullback Daine Laurie to the club a season earlier with the Panthers showing interest in Paul Momirovski.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported Penrith are considering signing Momirovski in a deal which would potentially allow fullback Laurie the opportunity to leave immediately.

Laurie, who has played just three games since debuting last season is currently set to link with the Tigers in 2022 on a two-year-deal that takes him through to the end of the 2023 season.

However the Tigers are keen to have him at the club as soon as possible to fill a void at the back with Adam Doueihi shifting to five-eighth this season.

Momirovski was at the centre of the swap deal with the Storm that saw Harry Grant play at the Tigers last season.

Momirovski comes off contract at the end of the year, so it remains to be seen if the Panthers will sign him long-term.

If Momirovski joins the Panthers in 2021 it will be his fourth club in four years since debuting for the Roosters in 2018 as he joined the Tigers the following year in 2019 and played with the Storm last year.

Foxsports.com.au revealed that the Tigers are refusing to let Momirovski leave despite informing him he would not be a first-choice centre at Concord.

A trade to Penrith for Laurie would be a good outcome

Spot on. We get a player we want and let a player who doesn't want to be here, leave. Win / win.

He doesnt wanna be here because hes done the right thing by the club, proven himself in a premiership winning team, and on his return(after a 2 year contract extension) gets told hes gonna be totally shafted for a couple of chronic underperformers, albeit talented...but rarely deliver.
Ask yrself...why have they both been at half a dozen clubs....????
I simply cant believe we make these decisions...coach under pressure IMO.

Like any player at our club
If you want a starting spot you have got to fight for it and earn it 1st
There should be no guarantee starter at our club
If Paul is upset with our signings, he should grow some balls and fight for a spot
Unless of course he thinks he is not good enough

I have a sneaky feeling that Melbourne might be after him on the quiet

Can we please not blow this thread up...it's really a non-issue. A guy asked for a release and we denied it. It happens all the time. Same thing is happening with Laurie and Penrith. A release should only occur when it benefits both parties. It definitely doesn't benefit us, and there is no certainty that it will benefit Momirovski either.

If Momorovski goes, he is in the same boat
3 clubs in 3 years
So your point is invalid in this case
Some players just don't want to fight for their spot in the team

I would like to keep Momorovski but we should always look to trade up if it is in our best interests
If he wants out then we should be looking at a trade that suits us
Not one that suits Paul Momorovski
In saying that, it's a 3 way decision between Wests Tigers, Paul Momorovski and another club

Geez some of you have revisionist history . Momo did not “star” for the storm . In fact he wasn’t first choice there , even before his injuries . He was a backup . So can we just get some perspective here or what ?
Also BJ , has been putting in this off season , as well as the jet , and because both those guys are way more talented than momo , if they are fit and firing , of course momo is going to be positioned behind those 2 . As well as Talau , who is a better footballer than him .

He’s had now, 3 months to show that he is the right option , and he hasn’t . Do you guys actually want to win ? Because if Madge can get Jimmy and BJ to buy in , that’s our best chance of winning . The buying in , was the issue , not the talent .

Putting in during the off-season and playing well on the field are quite different. I'll believe it when BJ puts in on the footy field and leads us to top 8 glory. Same with Jet.

???? It’s the offseason that coaches are watching mate . If momo was out performing the other guys , this wouldn’t be an issue , especially as BJ doesn’t have a contract guarantee after nov 1. If he was better he would be higher up the depth charts , and as frustrating as BJ was at times he is better than momo. It’s that simple . It’s not fair , it’s not right , but I’m sure there were no guarantees thrown momos way , outside of a roster spot this year .
BJ was crap because he was unfit. That’s as simple as it is .

He wants out for a better opportunity, happens at every club every year. Yet somehow the media make it out as if it's a drama when it's us 🙄
