More Tigers Players To Be Punted

I should have said he contributes negatively by continually undermining the coach and club, no wonder they want to hunt the prick out. Oh and we pay him $950k for the privilege.

The problem is the club can't move forward carrying a $950k hooker that is not contributing. I suspect that the club thinks Farah is not doing enough to get another contract at another club.

Surely Newcastle could see some value or Gold Coast or at George. But wait he doesn't want to move out of Sydney and won't play under potter in Newcastle. Now there is only one option which decreases his market value and they are playing hardball.

Much of the problem Robbie has created himself. 4yrs for a 30yr old hooker at marquee money there is the problem clear as day.

Larry , Potter is gone if Farah signs , it was in a story last week

That would send a great message to the young playing group there.

Get him in Monday with the chairman, Ceo and football manager and tell him this is the way it's going to be. Taylor is coach and you are playing reserve grade. No amount of media is going to make us change our minds. We should of backed potter and we can't make the same mistake again.

If we're trying to offload Rankin, why is he playing first grade ahead of JAC/Justin Hunt etc?

Good question, especially since he being played totally out of position! :brick:

I can understand them not playing JAC because he has signed elsewhere, but I would put Hunt in for his goal kicking alone. Our abysmal goal kicking has lost us games this year and it will cost a spot in the 8\. Hunt is a decent player and a way better kicker than both Moses and Rankin….and he is actually a real winger! Too simple, no doubt :unamused:

Yeah brilliant idea. Let's just throw away close to a million from next year's cap just to prove a point. Youre a bloody genius.

If Farah stays we need to offload other players to resign et. I suspect we are not playing jac because of 2nd tier salary cap issues.

Don't get me wrong, Hunt is a long way from a world-beater, but he's a better winger than Rankin - of that there's absolutely no doubt. The experiment hasn't worked.
I accept there may be 2nd tier issues with JAC, but I don't believe there will be with Hunt.

Love him or hate him, Farah made a valid point, he is being treated differently to other players. He is in reggies, when other players in the NRL team should be there as well, makes it look personal from the coach.

Is hunt part of the 25 first tier?

I am assuming so.
Reasoning -
* he played FG in the trials, with every indication he was going to start rd 1 but for the back injury he sustained.
* he came straight back into FG for the Bulldogs game and played FB.
* he played most of last year at SGI in FG, so we'd have had to pay FG money for him.

In terms of Farah or JT leaving i rather Jason Taylor as he has delivered less for the club.

Why? Farah is done. His career in the NRL is finished.
He is an aging slow hooker that no club wants to touch.
Taylor is just doing what Sheens and Potter failed to do which is admirable. He is looking out for the young halves that have a decade in the game, not a few games left in them like Robbie.

Leave the emotion out of it and you'll see it's the right move.

For the clubs sake i hope you are right, hope this is the right decision moving forward.

Why Farah ? we'll between him and Taylor neither are adding a great value (ATM).
Yes Farah has aged, everyone does, yes is has slowed down and no denying it.
What has Taylor done so far ? His winning percentage is rubbish too
He cant make the much needed changes like picking better winger in JAC
He hasnt been able to improve RHS Defence in 19 rounds
He from what i hear isnt the best people person either
And to top that off makes OUR Best Hooker play reserve grade and picks Edwards in the team who may get max of 30 mins ?

Dont get me started on the emotions, i'd have more to say if i was to bring emotions into it
And even then it'd still be factual.

Bingo !
851 i know how you feel towards Rankin getting selected over better players each week, mainly JAC
I have always cut Rankin slack but not when he has had a howler of a game

But this is deadset personal to me too when Taylor ball drops Farah before dropping others in the team

We don't have 17 first graders. He can't really go into a game with 10 players.

Agree but with slight adjustment -

Taylor is coach and unless you can follow the game plan, you are playing reserve grade.

JT needs to be allowed to prosper or die by his decisions.

Has taylor ever bagged Farah to the media?

Taylor facing the media and directly saying "we stand a better chance of winning against the Dragons without Robbie in the team" is bagging him IMO.
Robbie is a petulant sook but the club has handled this whole thing as poorly as you would expect from WT. It isn't the first time our club has got itself into a huge mess, all played out in the media. WT are amateurs when it comes to resolving internal problems in-house.

The club definitely handles things very poorly at times, the past week being a prime example, but why does every left of field decision always have to be such a huge deal for us? Someone mentioned Nathan Peats in relation to this saga before. The guy gets shifted to another state within a short period of time and essentially cops it on the chin without even 1/10th of the fuss that's been created by Robbie playing one match in reserve grade!

It's best Peats not be used as an example to compare his actions to Farahs. Imagine if Farah had refused to play because he wasn't receiving his cash payment?

Yeah, going off recent history he would've made sure we all knew about it I'm sure..
