After that kick on full time last week, he should never be allowed to kick again.

We should have only been beaten by 2 (he obviously had 13+).

Others make more mistakes more often Russ but get a free pass...Mbye will be useful to us as the season progresses...I dont like to constantly bag a bloke that really is trying for this club under strenuous cicumstances...that being his salary, stripped of captaincy,no permanent position and still publicly praises the club and team...unlike some ICONS of the club...

He had a crack last week, offered a bit off the bench. I think he's lacked in the effort stakes before then though.

Putting himself in the shop window now. Though, I still think he has a club lined up already.

possibly getting the cowboys game out of the way.

Mbye need a to be on show if we are any chance of finding a suiter for him.

That’s fair. But is it our job to find him a suitor?
How much longer does he have on contract?

Not our job but certainly in our financial interests...

800k saved in 2022 is a lot of motivation.

Mbyes not allowed to kick
Based on Brooks recent kicking form he shouldn't be allowed to kick
So we only have Doueihi who is allowed to kick at this stage
If he gets injured or has a bad day he won't be allowed to kick
We need to work out more last tackle play options
Maybe a chip kick for Laurie on the fly
Or a longer kick for Roberts on the fly
We need to be more unpredictable
That's how we succeeded in 2005
By being unpredictable

And what is it with our kickers
What is so hard about dribbling the ball in the in goal
These guys are paid a motza and seem to kick it dead by miles or do a nothing kick far to often
Our players need to talk and communicate more often
He'll I know what my dog is going to do before she does it
And my dog can't talk
They should be able to read each other
It's a bit like Benji's flick pass to Richards
He just knew he was going to be there
We need to be able to produce plays like that
Brooks also needs to be able to process the situation in front of him and select the RIGHT option much quicker
He also needs to to able to signal his intent to our own players so we can all work off the same page
We need to work more as a team and not individuals

I’d switched off by that stage thinking it was all over red rover only to find out they’d scored again. Sounds like atrocious football glad I didn’t see it and still haven’t.

That’s a pretty low comment to make.

PMSL ?

Moses Mbye wants out of Wests Tigers and the $800,000-a-year former Maroons utility has made himself available to two wooden spoon contenders.

Moses Mbye has held informal talks with the Cowboys and offered his services to the Broncos as the former Maroons Origin star looks to resurrect his NRL career in Queensland.

The Courier-Mail understands Mbye has had preliminary dialogue with Cowboys recruitment chief Dane Campbell as the Wests Tigers utility prepares for Sunday’s clash against North Queensland at Leichhardt Oval.

Mbye has known Campbell since his junior days at the Noosa Pirates and the round-five showdown at Leichhardt gives the 27-year-old the opportunity to impress Cowboys coach Todd Payten.

Mbye is contracted to the Wests Tigers until the end of next year but was given permission to negotiate with rival clubs last week, prompting the 139-game NRL veteran to explore his options on the market.

The former Queensland Origin utility is in no rush to quit the Tigers, but is equally open to a sudden move if the Cowboys or Broncos need to bolster their rosters this season.

The Broncos have one spot vacant in their top 30 roster, understood to be set aside for Mbye’s teammate Billy Walters, the son of Brisbane coach Kevin, but the Tigers will not release him without an adequate replacement.

There is a view the Broncos lack a genuine utility capable of playing several positions off the bench and Mbye believes he could be a handy contributor in the No.14 slot.

“I would certainly look at the Broncos,” said Mbye, who has played five positions during his NRL career, including fullback, centre, five-eighth, halfback and hooker.

“At the minute, it looks like they are keeping a spot open for Billy Walters and he fits that mould of a No.14.

“I will wait and see what happens. The Broncos have a few players off-contract and they have a new coach in ‘Kevvie’ (Walters), so you never know what will happen with their roster.

“I’ve been coached by Kevvie in the Origin team so if an opportunity pops up at the Broncos, I would definitely consider it.

“I’m from Queensland so a return home has some appeal for me.”

A crucial factor is Mbye’s value under the salary cap. The former Bulldogs grand-final hooker is on in excess of $800,000 this season, meaning the Tigers would have to provide a subsidy of around $400,000 for Mbye to leave.

The Cowboys are scouring the market for experienced NRL top-liners, particularly playmakers amid fears Michael Morgan will retire, but they have not tabled an offer for Mbye at this stage.

“I haven’t spoken to the Cowboys formally but I won’t say no to them or the Broncos,” Mbye said.

“If the Cowboys come to me, I’m more than happy to speak to them and weigh up what’s a good opportunity to play to my potential again.

“I will see there the dominoes fall in the next few months.

“I‘m fully committed to the Tigers for this season and if it turns out I’m required to play on here next year, I will honour my deal.

“Sometimes when you get into a little rut at a club, a change can ignite something. You see it all the time with new coaches and new players when they come into a club, they just get a fresher feel and that might be the case for me leaving the Tigers.

“I think I see myself in that No.14 utility spot moving forward. The game is really accommodating that position with the speed of the NRL. The faster pace allows the smaller man to play through the middle a bit more and I don‘t mind coming off the bench and making an impact when I come on.

“Over my career people have asked me if being a utility is a blessing or a curse.

“I haven‘t really nailed down one spot, but being versatile has given me some great opportunities, like being part of the Queensland Origin team.

“If the Cowboys or Broncos wanted me this year or next, I‘d consider it.” (Courier Mail)

It is weird reading this.

Yes the WT appears ready to part ways with Mbye. As many predicted, he failed to come close to his 750k pricetag. I too asked "what?!?" Truly wondering why Mbye and why over the Morris twins.

Yet i feel the guy did perform better then I expected. Ok maybe with 750K reynolds and 600k Packer being benchwarmers, our expectations were low...WAY too low. It seemed to me that Mbye did put the effort in for the club. Yes he dropped the ball, yes he was a speedhump in defense and compaired too say AJ brimstone, latrell , etc. We did not get value for money.

Seriously Was I the only WT screaming 'grab the morris brothers'.

As dumb as the mbye decision was, Kudos to Mbye for putting in the effort and earning his place.

Mbye is like a bad used car salesman. Slick talker but sells you rubbish.

Did Mbye sell himself to us? I honestly dont know. <honestly do not know, your reason makes as much sense as any other>
I remember he performed "really well" that last 3 months at the bulldogs, but they still lost massively. No idea if the Morris's and everyone else slacked off to make him looK better. But why pay 750k for a player, unproven in a loosing team? I never saw a 300k performance from Mbye at the dogs, sure we got 250k our way ... but just why?

From what I saw Cleary and the WT player development squad wanted Mbye. If Mbye sold sold himself to them so ....well then heck he is more like Tim Shaw or Donald Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon, far out we should move him to recruitment so we can beat Frank Lowry and the Easts gang to the new signings.

Mbye, I appreciate what you did on the field. Glad this saga is Over.

Crazy to let him go this year unless we have a replacement ready 'to go'. He still has a role to play this year, in my opinion.

Yup, we'd be silly to let him go this season. Let him go next year when Simpkin is more ready to go or we sign another utility.

Hopefully we are working at getting someone decent off broncos in return for Billy - not many in their top 30 are very appealing. Maybe they have a rookie somewhere we could use

Quite the contrary, I actually like Moses and I totally backed his signing. I respect his decision.

I am just thinking from a purely selfish tigers perspective and trying to get us future ready.
As I said, if he were so good or part of future pans then play him, but if not, not!

Cant you see that what you say is not making all that much sense from a supporters point of view..You stated we are rebuilding...we have young inexperienced players learning...
Mbye cover....
Centre
Fullback
Hooker
5/8
1/2...
IF any go down he can fill in immediately,he is one bloke we really need while we are REBUILDING with so much youth in the side and depth...

Jeez rebuilding sucks 4 games into a season.

Lol. We should be sponsored by Bunnings! This rebuild has been going on for 9 loooooonnnnng years.

Moses will be the man of the match Sunday and be at the Cowboys next week. His form
When seeking releases is up there with Wally Lewis in origin.

We need to use Mbye this year the same way most players use us...
WTs need a NRL quality centre like Mbye(bit of a stretch I know, but best we can get) in 2021 but hopefully we can recruit better for nxt season..and thats when Mbye can go wherever he has a contract dangling
Were already committed to over half his $800k salary this year,so may as well get some return on what remains
