Moses Mbye Super Duper Thread

Mbye's average salary over the time he has been with the Tigers is a lot less than 900k per year, the Bulldogs were paying a a big chuck of his salary for the first 2 years.

The statements that he and the club are making look like they are coordinated. They could be reading from a script designed to give Mbye and the Tigers the best outcome.

Played well last night against the Bunnies in a roaming lock role off the bench. When teams have insane rush defence like the Bunnies, you need a third playmaker to create more space for your 6 and 7. Before he came on, there was little to no time for our playmakers to do anything. Once he was on, there seemed to be more space. We have seen he can defend in the middle from his time at hooker.

I hope Madge continues with him in this role. Could be a game changer for us.

Yeah was better last night. The whole team was and needed to be.

He changed the game in that role against the eels aswell. Mbye is starting to grow on me again.

Dragons want Moses Mbye as early as next week...Tigers dont want to let him go although giving him permission to talk to other clubs...
damned if we do damned if we dont...
All the Mbye knockers cant wait to see the back of him, after last weeks game I can see why Madge wants to keep him...

source wide world of sport....

For Ben Hunt and you got yourself a deal

...kidding

Up until a couple weeks ago I would have said yes

But I really think we need him until we Atleast get Hastings...or maybe we could entice Hynes over early then

What did he do last week?

Mybe has played a positive role for the side this year despite how much he earns. Our squad is weakened this year if he goes but frees up cap money for next season. I expect they will let him go but can't see it being of any benefit to us this season.

Mbye in the 5/8 role shows what a quality playmaker he has been over the years and why Ivan paid big money for him to come here...I always liked Moses because of his defense and ball distribution,I honestly think his versatility over the years has been his downfall...5/8.fullback.centre,hooker is where he has been shoved because of our young developing players and the restrictions financially we have had..
I wish him all the best when he leaves but for this year we really do need him for his versatility....

What did he do last week?

He did what others have failed to do over the weeks.....feed the backline and give the ball some air and the centres space...

Agreed he played well but - one hot day doesn’t make a summer.

We’re yet to win back to back.

If we lose this week we will be saying he needs to go.

Sorry guys but just playing Devils Advocate.

For the right amount you let him go right. Its been reported we would pay half his salary next year. Surely if they pay 600k or something we let him go on the proviso he doesn't play against us.
We are long odds to make the finals and it give the youngens more game time

This year is gone so I’d sacrifice weakening our team this year to get some more space next year.

Might help us land Finucane or someone else.

I find out interesting that Harry grant really rapped mbye on matto johns show, more so than any other tiger

We’ll be paying half his salary and weakening the side for this year. We already have $600k sitting there unused because we can’t attract good players. Damned if we do and damned if we don’t.

Honestly, I’d get Mbye off the books now as long as the Dragons were willing to pay around the $600K mark.

Realistically, if we were talking about this after the Titans loss, no one would bat an eyelid.

We need to clear funds for next year so we know what we’re working with and it’s a perfect opportunity to move him on now.

Maybe just pay the transfer fee for Hastings so he can start building combinations.

Yes saw that too. Mentioned a few names like Benji and Chris Lawrence but Mybe was the only player that he spent anytime talking about and how he helped him with his game.

If they want him that badly they can pay the whole contract.

He's going there to play what position though? He'd be in the same boat there as he is with us.
