Moses Suli

Hows that stable club thing going there Woodsy?

Makes me angry to think that poor Simon Dwyer had his career ended by circumstances totally out of his control. He could have been anything. Then you have clowns like this who throw it all away because he's too lazy to get out of bed in the morning.

I'm all for having a giggle at the turmoil at the Bulldogs given Woodsy's parting shot, but this isn't of their doing. They did what many other clubs do, offer a change of scenery for a troubled player which often works out.

Suli is an out and out goose, whom has pissed away an opportunity (two, really,) that many would give everything for. That's on him, not the Dogs, or the Tigers.

May be a bit harsh on the kid, as it seems to me that there is a likely a very mixed up youngster behind this story and not simply a lazy one.

I just don't understand these kids.
If I was playing sport for a living (never mind the massive salary) I'd be giving my heart, my soul and everything I have to repay the faith shown in me.
Guys like Suli just don't understand how lucky they are.
And what's he going to go back to now? A bloke who stood to earn over a million dollars is most likely going to be earning minimum wage at best.

Did you have your head screwed on at 19 ?
I know I didn't and still don't

100% I did. I turned 19 only 6 years ago. I was at uni studying full time and working on the side.
I was grateful for having a place in the course I was in, and the job I had, so I applied myself to both as much as I could.

Had 1.4million reasons to quickly screw that head his shoulders…and he couldn't find his toolkit

Has anyone seen the posts from Suli on page 1 or 2 of the thread about him getting sent home from training on The Kennel website? Astonishing. He will be fortunate not to be out of the NRL altogether by season's end IMO. Great move by WT getting the goose out of our club.

Could you post his comments

It was a video of him chuffing away on some sort of pipe. Looked to be off his head. Not the smartest bloke around I would hazard a guess, the Dogs heirachy would have no doubt seen it and given him an ultimatum.

It was a hookah pipe. He was smoking vaporized and flavoured tobacco.

What flavour was it?
I never knew you could drink alcohol out of a glass…...I thought they were only for water. Cmon mate- the Dogs sacked him for a reason (I'd say that smoking tobacco wasn't the reason).
He is a slow/no learner, hope he has a happy, successful life in the future and things work out for the bloke. But he really has cost himself a massive, rare opportunity in life.

He seriously needs someone close to him to give him help and guidance or i really fear for his mental state.

His father passed away a few years ago.

I saw that too. I’m 100% he has a mental health problem which is severely impacting him. To be kicked out of 2 clubs after debuting so well it has to be the reason. The kid needs help and I hope he recovers

Donald T - You are probably right. When issues such as unusual player behaviour arise club administrators and other players all have good intention to try to assist but there comes a time when professional help is required. This might be the point when Moses needs some clinical help to make an assessment if there is an underlying condition. For his sake I do hope he seeks some professional help.

I wish Moses all the best and hope he does seek professional assistance to deal with his demons whatever they may be and hope he is able to come back in the future and show case his natural abilities on NRL fields in the future. Good luck young man.

yep, it's a sad tale to be sure. I hope the kid is alright. It would seem he is at a real crossroads in his life. Let's just hope he finds someone in his life that can lead him down the right path. Otherwise I hate think where he may end up.

Agreed. The kid is obviously talented but needs clinical help. He probably will and come out the other side and be awesome with whoever he plays with (I bet it ends up being with the storm or playing rugby - just my gut feeling).

I'm not excusing him for his behaviour. He definitely deserved the sack. And like you said, we can do nothing but hope for the best. When on, he can be an extremely dangerous player. He simply does not realise it though.

At his age, we also don't know what influence his mates have on him. I know from experience, I've had promising young employees quit, from their useless mates bringing them down to their level.

mark my words here, this all set up for WAYNE BENNETT to ride into town and save suli by taking him back to the broncos, and saving his career. on a very small contract by the way.

Did you guys see where it said Bulldogs had decided over the weekend to cut Suli from the squad, but on Monday morning after he pleaded for another chance they let him stay. Then Monday afternoon, on the same day, he was late to training AGAIN.
They even helped him with accommodation a lot closer to the training ground to make it easier for him to get there on time.

And yeah, watch one of the bigger clubs swoop.
