Most painful losses that you can remember

Without a doubt, the loss to the bloody 'Baby Broncos' because the media makes us re-live it every time we play an injury plagued team! Thankfully, haven't heard too much about it in the past couple of years, but that's only because we've been the ones with all the injuries, for the most part.

89 grand final… 12 yearls old at the game cheering us home and then bill harregon comes up with the worst refereeing decision of all time , either elias or brooks run from dummy half into an ofside canbera player and we get penelised ??canberra score of the next set and completely changed the momentum. I saw tim brasher at a game last year and asked him if he ever got an explanation and he said harrigons reasoning was its not in the spirit of the game.. WOW as you can see ill never get over this.... 2005 did help though haha. if we win in 2012 perhaps i will be completely healed !! :sign:

2011 loss to Warriors. Waiting for that video ref call seemed to take an eternity. Sitting there waiting, thinking how our entire season hinges on this call. Shattering. The young bloke sobbed all the way out of the stadium. It was like leaving a funeral as we exited. Horrible.

Same loss for me, I live in NZ and had to put up with all the f@#king kiwis whooping and hollering and bragging. That was a real bad couple of weeks

i must say the 89 Grand final. the Warriors game last year hurt deep the way we lost , i remember going to bed tossing and turning , feeling numb 2 hours side to side , couldnt believe it and in the morning waking up putting on fox sports trying to convince myself it was a bad dream. The loss to the Dragons the year before hurt as well but for some reason felt that we played a really good game, the knees to Tuquiri's back should of been a penalty. i must admit the loss to souths on sunday pissed me off . Will be back and i still think we are gonna win it this year. Have big money on them. 15/1 odds im loving it at the moment lol!!!!

1989 scarred me for life, I still think about it. I like others try to avoid it. It was like we were cursed in that second half.
2011 vs warriors and 2010 vs dragons.
I was angry after the roosters game in 2010 but we got a win the following week so I got over it quickly.
Last week was the worst regular season game for me, I flew down to Sydney and spent the day drinking with rabbits fans then from the kick off absolutely fed it to them for 75 minutes.
The embarrassment that ensued afterwards was horrible and I'm still copping it. Bring on Friday night ffs.

this was the WORST Dragons defeating us by one point in the last minute I went down in tears and straight to bed feling ashamed

All the obvious ones mentioned, another that really stung was against Souths at Leichhardt when Justin Smith converted from the sideline to beat us…...Smith couldnt kick the side of a barn.....usually. Was it 2003?

The one that hurt me the most was probably warriors last year. Mainly because we blew it and it resulted in our season coming to an end. I really thought we were going to go all the way last year.

I didn't know what to do when we lost, I think I went for a late night run to try and get the anger out of my system and calm down, lol

The 89 grand final for me as a Balmain supporter. I cried and cried. Then we went back to the club and drowned our sorrows.

Since 2000, the Warriors final is the worst loss for me, I was sure we were going to win the comp last year.

What a depressing thread. There have been so many.

Getting belted by Parramatta 66-12 or something like that at Leichhardt Oval in 2001.

Losing to the Dragons with a Nathan Blacklock chip and chase right on full time. He kicked right in front of me and you could see it coming, it was like watching a slow motion train wreck. Think that may have been 2002?

2000 leading against Penrith 31-8 and getting run down. I think that was at Penrith Stadium? That was the start of our end of seasom collapse if I remember correctly.

There was also a game against Canberra in 2000 in the snow that we should have won.

Getting belted by 50 two weeks in a row against the Dragons and Roosters in 2004\. I was at both games and clearly remember being laughed at by Roosters supporters in particular.

Manly in 2006 where Stewart scored on the buzzer.

2007 losing against the Knights in the last round. Was one of the most disgraceful collapses I've witnessed. We made a crocked druggie Robbie O'Davis look like Clive Churchill and Billy Slater combined.

2009 loss against Parramatta was hard to take. Everytime I see that Hayne chip and regather I want to throw up.

Any loss to Souffs in the last three years. Last years 50 point hammering at the SCG was completely embarrassing. But the close ones sting more. That last Farrell try was scored right in front of me, I always seem to sit in the worst places.

More recently, 2010 semi against the Roosters has to be the worst. Closely followed by the Warriors semi last year. Both times we lost the unloseable.

x2 The Penrith one sticks with me, i was at the game and remember walking to the car after it with my sister in tears and i felt like someone had pulled my heart out through my mouth. A real empty feeling.

88 grand final
89 grand final

2010 semi loss to Roosters - 4,523 scrums that year, penalties for screwing the scrum = None. Number of scrums screwed 1\. Mandatory rule for screwing the scrum = Differential Penalty.

2011 final loss to Warriors

I have to say the 89 GF sticks in my craw the most.

LOL I hear you BT, a 450km round trip in a car load of Rabbits supporters for me!

But other than last Sunday, the Roosters semi really hurt because we weren't beaten fairly.

Even though '89 will always be the worst loss for any ex Balmain fan ANY loss to Souths is unbearable.
I hate Souths with almost as much passion as I love the Tigers so I feel for you mate.

Without a doubt, 1989 GF. Rugby league can make you cry

2010 semi final v the dragons. Never seen my young bloke cry after a loss. Usually just runs around with his flag with a massive smile on his face because he is at a tigers game. But after this game he was shattered. Had to explain to him that it was their last game of the year and it absolutely devestated him. Nearly as much as his old boy!

nothing will beat the 89 grand final the reason I hate the raiders so much how can I forgive a team for putting me through that for life?? and still have mental scars when this team has a lead becaues of that game. its funny how so many people have the raiders as their 2nd team and dont understand my hatred for them I have a reason unlike some who just hate Manly becaues eveyrone else does

but in the year 2000 that started our downfall after the stupid snow game that we were robbed in 31-8 lead against panthers.. ohh how things have not changed in blowing leads in 12 years!! that game was bad Hoppa dancing and showing off only to choke and get beat 32-31 it was so much like last Sunday.

any stupid game souths fluke against the tigers there is 5 of them.

Knights game in 06 we played so awsome in that gams so did Hodgo Benji set up a great try to have the lead but one mistake from hodgo and we lost the game in the last few seconds

and yeah I remmeber that fluke Blacklock try my god that was a horrible weekend I remmeber I think that weekend I got ZERO in the tipping and that game on the Sunday made it feel even more worse if it wasn't already Cain had just kicked the goal and I was cheering thinking we won

Think about this guys no other team has had as many heartbreaking loss's as us

The most painful loss for me came in the formative years of the Tigers and was against the Storm at the then Brand New Docklands Stadium in Melbourne, now called Etihad it's where this years Origin game will be played.
With a heap of Rookie players the Tigers were blown off the park by the Storm in a game that was played I think on a Tuesday night, 0-64 was the final scoreline and I still have memories of a player who made his debut that night, Mark O'Halloran returning to the action with his head swathed in bandages.
But the most significant thing from that forgettable night for me was that John Simon, the player we held out hopes for in transforming the club decided to pull the pin after only a handful of games.
Crikey the vibes must have been very bad in the Terry Lamb era for a player of Simon's experience to pull up stumps so early, in spite of being, you would think, of earning pretty good money.

2009 game vs parramatta makes me vomit because of the apparent "GENIUS" of Jarryd Hayne with the chip and chase.

I watched that replay a couple of times, and again most recently, and poor Moltzen got the WORST bounce you will ever see, (it just bounced COMPLETELY to the right) and Hayne had no bloody clue - you can actually see the surprise in his eyes as the ball seemingly does an off break straight into his arms.

If that ball bounces up normally, Moltzen hits it at speed, and we score a 75m try down the other end.

The vomitus thing about it all isn't the 26-18 loss. It was the GENIUS!!! THE GENIUS!!! THE GENIUS!!! of Jarryd Hayne that makes me want to chunder.

Was that the game at the SFS where Bryce was penalised for the innocuous knees in the back to Luke Burt that resulted in a 8 point try, where T'N'T BROKE his ankle and where John Morris should have scored the match winning try on the wing but was pulled up for a forward pass?.
Where the Eels wre on a Golden Run all the way to the Grand Final to only have their ass flogged by the *TBA*!.
