For the horror fans out there, the Descent Part 2 is out on DVD and not too bad for a direct to DVD flick.

Really, Dances With Smurfs? Visuals were excellent but the story was lackluster didn't you think? A bit like the star wars prequels. "Ooooh, look at the pretties".. not much satisfaction beyond that.

Although Avatar had the usual good vs evil, boy meets girl themes; its visuals were that much better than anything else. It was an experience and has changed how cinema will be viewed. Already there is a rush of 3D film.

Yeah thats the thing. It felt like a tech demo to me, using a common story arc done a million times before (Pocahontas, Dances With Wolves, Last Samurai) as a template. The technology that delivered the film was the only thing that excited me regarding Avatar.

I would agree as far as revolutionary steps in film.
As a film though I found it one of the most boring, predictable and cliched pieces of clap trap since Babys Day Out. The visual experience was the only reason I sat through it

Saw "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" last night and it was the bob-omb! Edgar Wright's fast paced and energetic style brought the graphic novels to life beautifully.. it is quite unlike anything else thats been released in cinemas recently. Michael Cera is terrific and shows a more than his usual nervous socially-awkward man-child schtick. Supporting cast is dead on too, the characters from the books truly in the flesh.

That movie looks awesome and has a really unusual plot…cant wait to see it
