Moving WT to Campbelltown

So after speaking to some Wests people who are affiliated with the joint venture over the weekend, they were adamant that the club will be playing all games from Cambelltown in a couple of years and that "Balmain can go and get f*$@**d" (in their exact words)

We exchanged some heated words but was dismayed with the hate they held towards anything and anyone from the Balmain side of the joint venture. I have followed Balmain and now Wests Tigers all my life. Its easy to say that we are 1 club now, but with the uncertainty surrounding Balmain's future, i fear with what will happen to this club.

After the conversation i had on the weekend, i understand that there are many out there in influential positions who do not want a Tiger, never wanted the merger to begin with and will do whatever it takes and bring Wests Magpies back. Such a shame.

IF this happens i cant see myself following the club. We are 1 club with 2 rich histories. That should never be forgotten

We don't really need this again do we?
I agree with everything you've said, but just let time tell.
Personally don't think it will happen, we'd play all games out of ANZ before Campbelltown.
But like I said, we need to just wait and see.

@philgood good post and agree with you,GEO once said respect the past and embrace the future..If it wasn't for both foundation clubs uniting then we wouldn't have the great WestsTigers to support…

I can't wait for that to happen…
Still love the players and will follow the team.
But I wonder what they will do when they can only get 1500 people to a game.... 12 times a year!!

I'd be surprised if that happened. Hasn't Wests Cambo given up their spot on the board? Also the cost of playing there is a big problem.

If it did happen though i wouldnt care too much as long as the tiger stays. I really just want Wests Tigers to be sucessfull, no matter where they play.

I think your "conversation" was with yourself.Wests group have been paying for Balmain juniors to stay afloat. They've been very good to us.

Phil

The Wests Group can't change the name WESTS TIGERS

The NRL owns the name and I could never see them changing it unless we relocated

I am Life long Tiger.

Firstly Money Talks.. If Balmain cant contribute then they dont deserve to be here.

The magpie is synonymous with low income and on the park failure. It would be marketing folly to go anywhere near that emblem.

The generations that have come since the merger know will be lost to the clube if the Tiger goes including me and my 5 kids.

angry old men - the battlers.

People don't really believe that all games will be at CSS do they?

Funny.

ANZ is wests home of the future.

Has anybody heard if Tigers will still be there for the next couple of years, some friends of mine that live in Campbelltown said they heard there was a push to make the Campo Stadium a training base in the near future for Wests Tigers..

only heard second hand and was interested if someone else heard the same..wouldnt be a bad thing considering the fan base there..how long in the near future is anybodies guess…
