To lose that game after being up by 8 with 10 to go. It’s predictable bordering on intentional. I’d love to see some stats on teams losing from that position.

We were by far the better team but who cares, means nothing. We are just a spineless, soulless pack of also rans. We’re not even mediocre. A mediocre side would have dug in and grinded that out.

We have deep, deep psychological issues. I want to have something positive to cling onto but my logical mind knows there’s not much. Doueihi looks a star and winner. So dangerous all night. But the more time he spends in this current system he will be ground down and become another sycophant.

You would think finishing the season by screwing the Eels and sending the boys off a winner would have been enough. Those tries we coughed up were just a joke.

The Eels are a rubbish attacking side, we didn’t even force them to earn it.

Unprompted We pulled our own shorts down, turned around, spat on our hands, lubed up and demanded to be penetrated.

I guess the question is was who was the experienced leader out there telling them to slow down ...dont panic ...get through your sets

As much as Rowdy is an experiencrd player ...you dont earn the nickname Rowdy without reason

Noy knocking Rowdy ..but i se hom as. A do as i do lrader. ...not a run through walls lead Drr

I don’t think Rowdy can be blamed. We were in that frame of mind where you score 10, we’ll score 20. But you need to have the flexibility to be able to switch from that to defending your line and holding on.

I really don’t know who to blame to be honest. I thought Brooks was super dangerous all night. But as I said, he seems incapable of flipping the switch and closing the game out. Grubbering through on the first tackle in that point of the game, unless you score or get a repeat set is pretty inexcusable. I don’t want to roast him too hard though because it’s the most confident he’s looked all year with the ball in his hands.

Irony is Benji would have shut that game down.

It’s a huge issue. Brooks was tearing them to pieces with that up tempo game all night. It would have been so nice to see him have the smarts to make a concerted change to steering the side around and professionally close out the game. I honestly think he has it in him skill wise.

I also honestly think he is a mouth breather with a sub 80 IQ and this is why he can never consistently get the right balance.

I guess his problem is still revolved around his kicking game...

Douehi was far more dangerous ....Brooks long kicking game was to centre of the field and didnt put Parra under field position pressure

The bombs are a defensive measure to enable our team to reform while pegging the opposition as close to their line as possible. Every team does it but on this forum Brooks gets hammered for it.

Because when Brooks does it they are ineffective for the reason I stated.

MCK won us 2 games last year with clutch plays so we re-signed him for 2 years. Still not a bad decision and a good player to have in the top 20

Mikaele/Twal have not adapted to 2020 well. As long as they're willing to try hard, they should improve.

Mikaele and Twal have regressed big time ..plodders United

Never saw much in Mikaele but Twal had a really bog average season . He was my biggest disappointment

Been saying Twal average for a while

So much negativity from the so called supporters instead of support for the guts the team showed yesterday. OK we didn't win bit there was a lot to admire for a team two men short for most of the match and fielding a few youngsters.

The other issue is that he tends to get dominated. Little post contact metres mean he doesn’t suck two and three defenders in and doesn’t get an overly quick play-the-ball.

Yes the bombs are ineffective because usually there is nobody chasing through therefore brooks is only half the problem you could put up the highest bomb recorded if there is no pressure in the follow through its probably not going to get you the desired outcome. In saying that I think the midfield bombs are useless anyways

It’s not a matter of putting up the highest it’s a matter of getting them to hang longer, it’s not necessarily the same thing. We have chases on many occasions, but they have little opportunity to get to the opposition. He can do one of two things, develop more hang time skill or shorten the length. What he is doing now with those bombs is just rubbish.
