Yeah always thought "C" was pronounced as "TH." IIRC "moce" is goodbye in Fijian and is pronounced "mo-thay."

Can't beat English language for weird sounding pronunciations.
An 'a' may sound 'ay' or 'ah' - tomato
'Ay' may sound as 'ay' or 'ie' - Mackay
'Ough' may sound as 'uff', 'ow', 'oh' or 'eww' - tough, bough, thorough, through

Plenty more

I've only heard Civoneceva pronounced Sivoneseva FWIW

Getting back to Kev, as I wrote in another thread, today he played the best fullback game for this team for the season so far. (IMO!)

Yes, Kevin was good. I'd be happy if he stayed but it depends on how much money he wants. He would be a good backup player.

Super League’s Salford Red Devils in England are interested in signing Kevin Naiqama.

Kev would kill it there

He will be standout, he tries his best and i think his best will actually be better than most in ESL

KEVIN Naiqama no longer plays for Newcastle, but his hometown links could help him seal a contract with Salford in the English Super League.

The Daily Telegraph can reveal the Red Devils contacted Knights coach Nathan Brown last week to conduct a reference check on Naiqama, just days before the Wests Tigers defeated Newcastle.

During Brown’s six years in England with Huddersfield and St Helens, the former Dragons hooker built a friendship with Salford chairman and owner Marwan Koukash.

Nathan Brown gave a positive report on Kevin Naiqama when Salford called.
It’s why Koukash phoned the Newcastle coach to inquire about Naiqama — who is off-contract at season’s end.

Naiqama’s manager Darryl Mather confirmed the Tigers flyer was in the sights of the Red Devils for next season and beyond.

“I spoke to Nathan (Brown) last week, because I was pitching Kevin to him,” Mather revealed.

“He told me Salford phoned him about Kevin, because his kids went to the same school as the owner.

“Salford have done a reference check, so I’m expecting something (an offer) from them soon.
\
\
“Their CEO wrote to me and I wrote back outlining some broad terms and they indicated they would check with the coach and the owner.”

Mather said Naiqama’s preference was to remain in the NRL, but was open to change.

The Tigers have also signed a number of outside backs for next season, including Taane Milne, Malakai Watene-Zelezniak and Mahe Fonua.

This could squeeze Naiqama out and it’s why he is keeping all his options open according to Mather.

“Kevin would obviously prefer to stay in the NRL and I think he is at that level, but that said it’s more frequent that you can go over to England and come back,” he said.

“It isn’t what it used to be when you went to England and you couldn’t come back.

“I’ve just sent Peta Hiku to Warrington and if you had said that to me at the start of the year, I would have said, ‘never in your life’.

“But you just don’t know in this game.

“At this stage, we’ve got to keep an open mind.”

NAIQAMA’S RUGBY SNUB

Kevin Naiqama will ignore interest from rugby franchise Western Force to remain in the NRL next season.

The Wests Tigers centre told Market Watch he’s open to trying the rival code but not in 2018, as the former Knight and Panther has unfinished business in the 13-man game.

“There is an opportunity to play some rugby union next year but I feel like I’ve still got another year or two in the NRL,” Naiqama told Market Watch.

“Rugby union now, probably not, but maybe down the track.”

While it’s been widely reported Naiqama will leave the Tigers at the end of the year, the door is still ajar for him to stay.

It’s understood the Tigers have another backline spot available in their 2018 roster which is yet to be filled.

“My management are still talking to a few clubs,” he said.

“There’s a chance I could still be here next year. We’re still exploring those options as well.

“Hopefully we’ll get something sorted within the week, if not next week.”

Having ruled out the ‘other’ code, Naiqama has all but ruled out a move to the ‘other’ competition.

The 28 year-old reportedly caught the attention of Salford and Warrington in the Super League but Naiqama said he’s never spoken to the clubs.

“I don’t know where all that came from. People were messaging me and I haven’t spoken to any Super League clubs. It blows my mind how something can catch wind,” he said.

“I feel like I’ve still got a couple of years here in the NRL and that my best footy is ahead of me.

“My No.1 goal is to stay here. Whether that’s at the Tigers or somewhere else. I want to be in the NRL and my manager is trying to sort something out.”

I wouldn't be in a hurry to join the Force just now either, they've got half their deck under water.

I hope he stays with us but I can't see him being anything other than a backup player. He is though a quality backup player.

I'll pack his bags and drive him to the airport. Hell I'll even shout him lunch before his flight. Just as long as he gets on that plane!

Ruthless - I love it!

We need more supporters like you and me.

Wasn't D day for the Force or Rebels the 7th of August?

Kev won't go the UK. As I understand it he's halfway through a carpentry apprenticeship that he's pretty keen on so he'd most likely take an ISP role over ESL. Plus, not as many opportunities in the mother land to take his shirt off and show off his crap tatts given the cold weather.
