Naiqama - Re-Signs till 2018..

He said he wants to stay in the NRL for at least 2 more years, either here or somewhere else

Wes had a great game today. I'm calling cleary gave him kick chase job today and if so he did his job. Was in Toms face all game. We sign him again. Can't hurt.

He has seemed to have improved his defensive lapses under cleary.

His attack was never in doubt.

I would give him a 2 year deal, but no guarantee of FG.

My thoughts exactly milky. He wants to stay so give him a contract that will let him finish his carpentry course. He has served us well, without being a star. Can be explosive on his day and he can also help our reserve grade team off the bottom of ladder. Push for FG if selected players get to comfortable, lazy. And i know and hope you all do, When the money is in the bank it's easy to get lazy. Players like Wes will stop that LAZY. As will benji, gamble, fonua, thompson, milne, rochow if signed and Rona but can't see him. Chieka just made him potential Walla wanna be. My point is we need a good reserve grade team. Lets not forget two up and comers from Newcastle.

Sorry sideline eye you got me but you know who I'm talking about he had a good game. My next post i call him Wes again. Hope you can forgive me. Or atleast Kev can

Kevvy was one of the best on the field today. 100% effort as always.

I think we still have room in the 30 for a back that can cover 1-5 and Kev fits the bill. Did a great job yesterday on players probably on 3x his salary.

Solid game and gives a 100% each time he plays. Yes he has errors in him but show me anyone in our side that doe not.

I believe he would benefit from a off season under Cleary and improvements in the teams defence will also translate to Kevin also improving. He fixes that and his offence is excellent so we get a player who is keen to play for us and will add value.

Alex Twal..

I've changed my mind on Kevin ..has been very consistent in the past 6 weeks or so..He is an above ISP level player …not a superstar First Grader but better than a lot..His attack is good and his defence has improved in recent times..Would give him another Year...added he can also cover fullback..

Civoneceva prouncuned - thivuniceva

Only the first "C" or does it end up Thivunitheva? Soundth like a trip to Catalonia. Una thervetha por favor.

It's not just Catalonia, many in the Navarre pronounce it that way too. Threw me off when I was in Pamplona and everyone was saying "thero" instead of "cero" and Tharagotha instead of Zaragoza.

I'd be offering Kev a contract for next year as long as it's not too much coin, good ISP and also backup for the NRL squad wing/Center/fullback.

2 guys havent been given contracts from the FG team so far

Tim Grant and Kevin Naiqama

Grant knows he is playing for a contract so in recent weeks has put in an effort to be noticed on field. For a little while he had become complacent and comfortable

Naiqama on the other hand has been a lot more consistent. Tries to play the best he can each week and i havent seen any him try to impress anyone and over playing his football. If anyone i'd re-sign him first of the current stock.
Like many have mentioned, he is very handy back up for the back line.

I wouldn't sign either player. We have plenty of centres/wingers: Nofa, Suli, Fonua, Thompson, Marsters, MWZ. I would be using the money which should be at least 500k between them to buy a quality forward. There should be players available soon but you could sign Taga and Bodene Thompson close to the same money.

He has been beyond ordinary so far.

Yes Earl you are right, however see the difference a really good coach with a football brain can do by bringing the best out of players who may have been down in confidence and ability in certain positions…
Kev did really well against Manly, but can he be consistent????

I don't think Taga or Thompson are really better than Grant. I'd keep Grant and Naiqama if possible.
