I'm not sure whether he has a future with us or not, but it's crazy to be writing him off when he's 21\. Plenty of props just don't mature until later. Brenton Lawrence is a good example of a player who needed some extra time.

Personally, I'd persevere with him. Has the mongrel we need. It's not as though he's in the first tier anyways.

So long as he is on the books, he gets my support and I am sure the staff are doing everything they can to get the best out of him.

Personally I like his shape, I am a proponent of a diverse forward pack and Brownie has a unique physique for us, being rounder with wide hips. I believe this to be one of the best shapes for a prop, as indicated by some of the all-time greats e.g. Beetson, Lazarus, Webcke, Blocker. It just makes them so difficult to bring down 1-1, compared with taller or leaner forwards who are slighter at the waist/legs.

Downside of this shape is the tendency to put on weight and difficulty of getting big minutes out.

He's got a 3 year deal (with 2 to run) and I am sure we aren't paying too much yet, so he's definitely got time on his side.

Reminds me of Mark O Meley . He was an animal, then ran out of puff

Agree with you there - if they bring him along well we'll get more than the few good years O'Meley put in.
If not, a few years at O'Meley's best wouldn't hurt us.

I agree he is a rolling forward that's what the Wests Tigers need if he comes good. All he needs to do it catch the ball put it under his arm .nothing flash

The players you mentioned would of struggled with the play the ball speed with the wrestle and mass numbers in tackles

Would of still been effective , but not as effective as they were in their eras

I rate him. He has grunt and aggression. I don't think the previous coaching structure put enough time into him. Hope he kicks on.

A less effective version of Webcke or Lazarus would still be pretty good, right?
