Nathan Cleary

I think its time, that if its not already happening, that our Uncle Harry puts his hand up for a TPA and uses Ivan to promote his apartments who wouldn't by an apartment from Ivan.

Nathan is the one he wants to sell apartments to the female population i'm guessing.

God it would be nice if Harry chimed in. I remember Woods and someone met with him years ago about keeping all the big heads - that didnt quite work out. :brick:

Have a feeling he will end up at the Roosters imagine the TPA they will offer.

Maybe we can get a TPA for free oysters because he loves them.

Hey Geo any Oysters out your way?

Seems pretty clear he won't be at the Panthers. Given the amount of time he's had to sign contracts there, I'd be surprised if he stays.

We should have a pretty decent halves pairing.

I dunno Dave , at every turn his pricetag seems to grow and grow

Mad to do anything before seasons end , he might also be in a losing GF team

yeah just the whole situation has the smell of what happened to us with the whole "Big 4" drama

I reckon he'd be mad to do anything as well before the end of this year. The smart play for him would be to just see how it all plays out.

Reports say he's making the decision on his 21st bday in November.

He has a choice between Penrith, roosters and Tigers.

Ivan and Gus are letting him make his own choice.

Penrith dogged his dad in the past.
Roosters aren't the most family friendly club.
And at the tigers…. He could captain the team for the next decade.

I think the right choice should be pretty easy.

The key here is to keep Ivan

100% Spot on.

Both Ivan & Nathan have publicly stated on numerous occasion what a close bond they have and how they would both like to play/coach together at some point.

To lock out the Rorters all that's needed is to extend Ivan's contract beyond 2020 - say another 3 years. I doubt NC & IC would want to go through the awkwardness they describe when they've already come up against each other for another 4 years - I reckon NC decides (next November) to leave Penrith to join up with IC. It's just a matter of where IC will be.

The Club needs to extend Ivan now/soon - he's earned an extension in any case.

I'm sure everyone from the Board to CEO recognise this

Would you think the roosters will go hard for NC, then hoping IC will follow ??

Extend Ivan now til 2023 and the Roosters couldn't offer Nathan an opportunity to play for Ivan for at least another 5 years.

If we are progressing well in terms of a club that can win the premiership then we increase our chances of securing him.

Money will be the same everywhere and the Dad/coach thing is for me is no real big deal.

If anything it helps IC more.

I think achieving something with your dad is a huge lure. It goes beyond a grandfinal win and would be a massive story in the history books of the game.

Nathan has openly stated he wants to hook up with his Father, Ivan has openly stated he wants to coach his son in the NRL….

Think about this....there is no way they will do this after Nathans NEXT deal as NC will be in his mid 20's....will have picked up habits from elsewhere....the optimum time for IC to coach his son is NOW while he is still young and learning......If Ivan commits to the Tigers beyond his current contract, its a shoe in Nathan will be with us from 2020.....

No one loved their dad or kids more than me. I get it but to win a GF or 2… wow

Lets just give them both at the tigers... easy

Just on that potential 1/2s pairing of Cleary & Brooks, although it looks great on paper Brooks has struggled in the past when he has not been the dominant playmaker. Does anyone think he'd regress back into his shell if paired with Cleary or would he fire as a running 5/8?

That’s just stupidity.

Other than your inadequate & glib response, I fail to see the stupidity. Go ahead and enlighten me sagacious one!
