About a month ago they were adamant he would stay a panther for life. Now this news of ivan wanting him for 2020 they are happy to let him go, some even saying they want Brooks and how Brooks is the far superior player anyway

Not quicker than Tigers fans. Brooks has gone from punching bag to golden child in half a season.
@ said:Not true. A loop hole was explained when Cartwright signed with the Titans.
Apparently the current contract can’t be negotiated by another club before it ceaees. There’s nothing in place that stops future contracts being negotiated only they can’t be signed.

But the bloke on talkin sport said it would be announced within a month - that can’t happen can it??

Said it will come out in few weeks. Very different!
Call me a conspiracist but something I believe is at play.
I don’t know who is talking but looking at things from a realistic perspective Brisbane need a halfback and a new coach from 2020.
I would think that Ivan would have more runs on the board than Seibold and would be their first choice.
The other side of it is that Wayne is in limbo but at the same time doing what he can to guide the Broncos into the next gen.
I’m not sure if Wayne is supportive of the Clearys coming however he and the Broncos have a lot of pull and a left field idea I’ve conjured up could be that a swap deal is negotiated for both coaches start of 2020\. His Son Darius would most likely retire by then but he could bring his new son Jack Bird to return to Sydney and partner up with an experienced Brooks.
Wayne wouldn’t like the idea but it might be the next best thing to getting the arse uncomfortable and embarrassingly, and if he still feels the fire might give him one more challenge to finish off his career talking a well built squad deep into September.
Of course this would only happen if the Cleary’s decide that a move to Brisbane is the next step for their family. Otherwise it’s NC to the Tigers. And Wayne and the Broncos to sort out their own alternative path.
But there are too many pieces at play at this same time for something not to be happening.
Wayne pressuring the Broncos about his future and the same day as Brooks suddenly being asked about his, followed by Ivan opening saying he would like his Son at the Tigers but the Caller mentioning the news tonight that his Son has in fact signed with Brisbane…..

Neither its just that i think you are drawing a very long bow because some random drunk rang up a radio station with a rumour and you take the rumour even further by adding even more speculation to it
@ said:1 it’s talking sport
2 Ivan is not going anywhere, it’s not in his character to do a rebuild 1.5 years in
3 bloke was a piss head
4 people are gushing on Fb about Cleary extending his tenure
5 also alluding to Nate c inbound also
6 he just finished building his house
7 kids are just about to hit high school
8 it would be a mitch Moses move, Ivan is smarter than that
9 Brisbane aren’t a project, Ivan likes to turn something from nothing
10 lol
