Nathan Cleary

Cbf reading all this.
Anything new to report?

Nathan Cleary still is a chance to sign with Tigers, same as page 1\. Only diff being that Gus has stated publicly now that he'd give the move his blessing if Nat chose to go to Tigers.

Thanks.
I'll revisit in Nov.

Gus is full of it

This is the same Gus who upgraded NC contract after sacking IC.

IC advised NC to sign. The upgrade was a substantial increase in value but at the expense of the dad clause.

Gus felt as if he needed the dad clause removed. IC had no idea he would get a gig at Wests. NC was a young man about to earn hundreds of thousands per year taking the advise of his dad, the person he trusts 2nd most in this world.

The person he trusts most in the world, his mum, wants IC and NC at the same club.

Cut out the disguised swearing guys or it's going to result in warnings being issued.

If we were the Roosters, we’d give Ivan a top up, seeing as how he’s exempt from the cap, with it really going to Nathan. Pretty full proof idea that.

From next year there is a Cap for the non-playing staff.
3 million for all the clubs except for Storm, Broncos and Roosters they get 12 million.

The cap covers the entire football department and includes coaches, assistant coaches, non-playing staff, equipment and even camps, oh and also includes sacked coaches.

Do you know what the dollar figure is?
My post was a bit of sarcasm.

As Fibros noted $5.7m but will have a 4% CPI increase over the next 2 years, will make some clubs think twice before sacking a high paid head coach, any overspending is also subject to a 37% luxury tax.

The cap includes all staff employed in coaching, performance, football operation, medical, welfare and recruitment, also included in the cap are training camps, operational costs and gym equipment but capital expenditure is exempt.

How can they include things like gym equipment? What if a club with poor facilities once to up grade all of there equipment and have a first class facility - wouldn’t the equipment for that blow the budget for Human Resources

Groundhog Day. Are we still going to find out on Nov 2 ?
I've been reading this thread days ..
still most likely we'll be informed on Nov 1 of 2 as they started a few months ago.

He said that at least a week ago.

He actually said it at the beginning of this year…as stated by Ivan on NRL 360 and rehashed last week when Cleary was questioned about Nathan prior to the Dogs game but never mind..

Well that's three times then.

Apparently on NC's birthday. Sometime in September.

Is there something about not being able to sign for the season after next until Nov 1st?

Correct can't negotiate until after November 1 for those players contracted for next season. NC's birthday is in November not September.

Gould seemed pretty positive he would stay with them on 100% Footy on Monday night.

Who knows - they are all covering up what really is on the cards.

Why doesn't he sign now then?

I think Gould is sneakily trying divert Wests Tigers attention to signing other players whilst, i.e. Wests Tigers will hold their money and future recruiting as they hold on to the slim chance that they will get Nathan Cleary. Of course Nathan may never sign with Wests Tigers and they will look like dummys in 2019 when they and every other team realise that they have drastically weakened their 2019 team line up whilst they waited for Nathan to make up his mind. Get smart Tigers, sought this silly situation out very soon or you will be left holding the baby.
