I think it means until he says what he's doing he could potentially do anything!

Re Luke Brooks the fact he seems linked no nobody speaks volumes I'd say

I’ve been trying to work out what you mean by this…
Speaks volumes as no other club rates him. And so in that case we are looking at a halfback upgrade?
Or
Speaks volumes as there is no mention of other clubs because his happy to sign with us and it’s close?

Some other clubs would be happy to sign Brooks I reckon, so hopefully it's the latter.

Maybe but who are they? You'd think he'd be linked to multiple clubs if he was genuinely in the market.

Panthers might be looking for a 7

unless Brooks wants to leave I dont think we have a need of Cleary. I agree Cleary and Brooks are different players but I think neither of them are totally comfortable being an organiser of the team. If that means we loose Ivan in 2021, sobeit.

I'd rather spend the $$$$ on beefing up the forwards into something other teams dont like playing and then let Brooks & Reynolds run free behind them to get the backline moving and taking opportunities. That would rely though on Reynolds being able to scheme an d organise and just let Brooks run.

Hmmm,
Well we can also read the descisions made by the tigers so far and the fact Luke Brooks hasnt been re signed still leaves Cleary decision up in the air. The person putting all that on hold would be his father?. Has he got the good oil?
I guess we’d all like the decision made sooner then later.
But If he mentions his going to begin contract talks in the next couple of weeks, that can only be done with the Panthers, right?

I think it means until he says what he's doing he could potentially do anything!

It means that either nobody else is interested or he has no real interest in leaving. Or possibly both.

Oh good, well thanks for clearing that up I have such clarity as a result of your post.
I guess your in the dark just like the rest of us.

Same here. It's just how to get those big name forwards here.
i guess the Saints don't have much money and yet they'd have done it.

Some of you have to stop trying to read the tea leaves everytime there's an interview with N Cleary etc. He's going to say good things about Penrith and their staff even if he plans to bigger off. Means nothing either way.

In the meantime, fire up the BBQ, crack open a good bottle of bourbon and wait until his birthday or whenever he makes his announcement.

Labour man , Wimbledon supporter and likes bourbon ….........

Do you have any good qualities Yoss ??

Yes he does Hap…..the bourbon....I hope he has tried the new Wild Turkey Longbranch....it is sensational...

I never said otherwise. There seems to be some hostility there and I don't know why.

I thought you may of known a bit more about the topic you were commenting on. Your previous post about other clubs and Brooks was cryptic but gave me the impression you might know more. In which case I was hoping you’d share. But if you do not or can not I understand. It’s all good. I’m just an eager fan like the rest of us on here and probably need a new hobby.

Nathan will sign a contract that suites himself and Ivan
Panthers 4/5 year deal
Ivan runs out his 2 with us , gives him 2/3 with Nathan at Penrith
OR
Nathan Shocks the Panthers and signes a deal with the Tigers and Ivan Shocks Every one and signs extension , that's about all I can see
I predict after having 100 thoughts on this , Nathan and Ivan will be Tigers together
My opinion only
It would be very good as I think if they get a crack at working together at the Tigers it may very well be good for us , how the other players pan out in retention / Release / I'm not sure
Brooks / CLEARY would be good , but we have others to work with , it's a bit messy when you look at it
Thank god I don't have to work this out as a coach or CEO
But we still would need a big prop / Agresive one at that
CLEARY / Maderson / Tamou / would be a big step up

Nathan Cleary set to re-sign with Penrith Panthers according to Phil Gould
Star halfback Nathan Cleary is set to extend his stay in Penrith by re-signing with the club, according to Panthers General Manager Phil Gould.

Speaking on 100% Footy, Gould confirmed Cleary's intentions to re-sign with the club where he has played 58 career games, saying that a deal will be done "shortly".

To watch Phil Gould reveal the full Cleary story and much more, tune into 100% Footy tonight at 10.45pm on Nine

Cleary had originally set a November 1 date to discuss his contract with Penrith beyond the 2019 season, but appears to have sorted out his future soon after the Panthers were bundled out of the 2018 finals series.

Speculation about the 20-year-old's playing future reached fever-pitch during the 2018 season, following the dismissal of head coach Anthony Griffin, and Cleary's well-publicised desire to play under his father Ivan.

Gould confirmed Cleary's intentions to re-sign with the Penrith Panthers beyond the 2019 season
Following the Panthers' exit, Cleary mentioned that he did not want to mull about his future for too long.

"I don't want to drag it out," Cleary told News Corp on Sunday.

"I’ll have a couple of good days with the boys and do reviews and after that I’ll get down to talks and sort it out as quickly as possible.

"With that comes all the speculation and there is a lot of rubbish.

"If we can get it done as quickly as possible, I’ll be happy with that.

Speculation has been rife over whether the Panthers will lure Cleary's father Ivan away from the Wests Tigers

With Cleary's future secure in Penrith, the focus will now shift to the Panthers' permanent coaching position and whether the Panthers are able to lure Cleary's father Ivan back to Penrith.

However, Gould and Cleary have both thrown their support behind caretaker coach Cameron Ciraldo following the Panthers' semi-final defeat.

"I think everyone respects him and really likes him as a coach,"Cleary told News Corp.

"In the last three weeks we’ve shown a lot of improvement and it is a credit to him.

"I’ve always loved playing under Siro. He has kind of turned me into the player I am today."

Didn’t look that convincing to me.

His choices are two: sign with Penriff or join the Tiges…...he will not consider any other offfers

So if the Rorters offered 1.5 million + benefits he'll knock it back. ..ok cool

. you know what I meant…..haha

No I don't actually are you saying Nathan will only consider offers from Penrith and Wests Tigers and no other Clubs come November 1….?

NC has made two things very clear; he wants to play under Ivan; he would find it very hard to leave Penrith…so come decision time he will either sign with the Tigers(unlikely) or with Penrith(likely)..now, if another team comes along and makes him an offer, he will simply take that offer to his preferred club seeking to match or better it...and Penrith and from what I can tell, the WT have the war chest to pay him $1m+...

He looked more convincing when he said Griffin was safe a month before he sacked him
