If we sign Cleary there will be plenty of interest for Brooks from rival clubs and that will force his price way up.There are plenty of clubs that need a quality no7.
So even if he wants to stay we may not be able to match the money he will be offered. Interesting times ahead, but as I have said before, Cleary on his own is not the answer, we will need to get some quality around him
I’d extend Brooks now. This locks his price before any real competition. Clubs will circle as soon as NC is announced thinking Brooks will want out and force the price up.
BTW - As much as he denies it, I’d be surprised if Ivan didnt know the exact state of play with Nathan to the minute.
